Robert Randle Stull, 77, of Gurnee Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at home after an 8 month battle with cancer. Robert battled 3 separate types of cancer and won twice. He fought until the day he was called to rest peacefully with the lord.
He was born in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, on June 6, 1943 to the late Henry and Marcia Stull. He is survived by, the love of his life, his wife Kathy Stull, 2 daughters, Connie (James) Hamilton and Selena (Todd) Walker, 4 grandchildren Mason Kaatman, Staff Sgt. Nathaniel Kaatman, USAF, Ethan Walker and Kayla Walker, 2 step grandsons James Hamilton and Bryan Hamilton and 1 step granddaughter Ashley Hamilton who preceded him in death.
Robert was preceded in death by his 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Robert served his country proudly in the Navy from 7/8/1960 – 10/29/1980. He retired at the rank of Senior Petty Officer.
Robert was a proud Vietnam veteran, who loved his country. He wished for at least one grandchild to serve our country which was fulfilled and he had the honor of seeing it.
Robert was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family. Anyone who knew Robert knew that he was the most loving husband, father, grandfather and father-in-law family could ask for. He never met a stranger and always smiling. He was passionate about his Mormon faith, his wife, his family and their 2 dogs He served as a High Priest in his faith.
Anyone who came across Robert was blessed and honored to do so. He will be dearly missed by anyone who knew him.
Services: Visitation at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, on Thursday, May 20, from 10:00 am until time of service at 12:00 noon. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
To the entire family I send my deepest condolences. Mr. Stull’s kindness and love can be seen throughout, he was a man of great compassion and faith. A man of honor, true integrity, and love. The time I have spent with him will forever be cherished! I can’t thank Kathy and Selena enough for those memories. May his grandchildren continue to lead by his example and deeds and carry on in his legacy-

My Mom and I send our sincere condolences to all of you. We were friends from seeing each other playing Bingo on Monday nights. Bob was such a supporter of my Mother! When we were allowed to use the “cushy” chairs, he would bring one for Mom and make sure she was comfortable with it. Kathy and Bob are good people. We watched Bob go through his treatments with always a smile and a positive attitude. He will be missed by many. Just remember Kathy that if you need anything, we are here for you, always. Our hearts are broken by your loss.

Kathy,
I just wanted you to know how much we will miss Bob. I have known him and worked with him for 40 plus years and he always had such a great attitude and made everything so much fun. His laugh and stories never stopped amazing me and even when going through this he never was down he always had a smile and great outlook on life. He said he is ready to go to his maker, but not in a rush to get there. He was a fighter to the end and at least will not suffer in the pain this must have been. We all can just remember him as the Great man he was. GOD blessed us all who knew him and the way he conducted his life. He would do anything for anyone who needed his help. That was just the kind of guy he was. He loved you and his kids and grandkids and was so proud of you all. He also talked a lot about his church family and how he was proud of what he could do there. He will be missed by anyone who ever came across him and we will dearly miss him.
