So sorry for you’ll loss Dave was a good man father grandfather and great grandfather
Our sincere condolences to the Slate family. Dave was my first foreman when I was a first year apprentice with the Ironworkers down at the Pevely bottle plant in 1980. We have remained friends ever since. I have thought and talked about Dave very often. I regret not visiting more as we only lived a couple miles from each other. Dave was one of the best men I have ever met. I am heart broken this morning.
Dave was one of the finest ironworkers I have ever worked for or with. He was smart, kind and never lost patience with the younger workers who were just learning the trade. He was an absolute pleasure to be around and I will always have great memories of him and lots of fun “ironworker stories” to tell about him. Rest in peace, my friend.
Sorry for your loss
RIP Dave
Always enjoyed working with you
Sorry for your loss.
My condolences to Dave’s family. He was a Forman of mine working for Alberici at Anheuser Busch when the 9/11 attack occurred and we watched it together in disbelief on our little tv in the break trailer. As mentioned by others, he was a good and patient leader and I’ll always remember some of the tricks of the trade he taught me. And I remember that he told me that his family got together I think one day every weekend and did something together. Very nice, family oriented man.
You could never ask for a better fella to work with or work for. Kind, funny and very skilled at his trade. A cherished friend and brother Ironworker. He will be sorely missed by many.
dave and i went to apprentice school he was a year ahead of me.what a great guy.worked for him for different comtractors.a true craftsmen, rip my brother.
It was my privilege to have known this man for a number of years in a special way that reflected his integrity and honesty. I always enjoyed my visits with he and Bonita. I admired
his devotion to his wife and family. He truly was teaching by example.
I liked Dave very much, he was a very good man and a very good Ironworker.
Bonnie and family, Bill and I send our sincerest sympathy.
I just happened to come across this on post dispatch this morning. Which I never look at. Anyway, Uncle Dave was Very special to me. He was one of my favorites! Aunt Bonita, know that we care and would come to the memorial, but tested with Covid. Craig and David, you had a very special dad! I have lost track of the family over time, and it was a good family to grow up in! God Bless! Love, Kayla
Craig, We are thinking about you and your family as you say “good bye” to your Dad.
From reading other condolences, I know where you get your “kind, thoughtful, and easy going traits”!
