Dan “Buford” Mueller, age 59, passed away at home on the morning of November 5th, 2022 after a 2-year-long battle with cancer. Born April 13, 1963 to Doris and Ralph Mueller II, Dan was the youngest of three boys. He is survived by his eldest brother, Ralph Mueller III and will be joining his middle brother, Martin Mueller in heaven.
Dan is also survived by his best friend and bride, Linda Tonsi Mueller, who he met in college and married on February 13, 1988, his daughters (whom he was so proud of), Gretchen Mueller Kingma, Katy Mueller Scherrer, his amazing son-in-laws, Jeremy Kingma and Brandon Scherrer, and his grandchildren who lit up his world, Annaliese and Bennett Kingma. Lastly, Dan is survived by his nephew Ralph “Buck” Mueller IV, 12 Tonsi in-laws, and 16 Tonsi nieces and nephews.
He loved his family and friends fiercely, was an avid duck hunter and outdoorsman, loved cheering on the Cardinals, grilling and brewing beer. Dan’s gregariousness will be missed by many.
Please join us in celebrating Dan’s life with a visitation on Thursday, November 10th at Kutis Funeral Home, Affton from 4-8pm. There will be a service Saturday, November 12 at 9:30 AM at The Journey Tower Grove.

You will always be remembered as my friend and assistant soccer coach at LHSS who encouraged, taught, and made me laugh. In fact laugh more than I can ever remember. Also. I’m so sorry to hear of Dan’s passing. It makes me so sad! We have such wonderful memories of y’all. You were the greatest neighbors! We still have our Progressive dinner Christmas ornaments, and we added to it a fireman Christmas ornament in memory of Dan. Our thoughts and prayers are with y’all.

Danny was a great guy with a great sense of humor. He always made me laugh even when I didn’t want to.
Cousin Dan was like a big brother, taught me how to respect my elders and wear a tie, and the importance of laughter and good times. So many fond memories at family gatherings for Easter and Thanksgiving, Elvis impersonations, football games, cruising in his Ford F150, late nights at White Castle. Grateful that we remained friends and met for beers now and then over the years. You will be missed buddy, and grateful that your suffering is over. Rest In Peace.
My life was enriched by knowing Buford. It’s impossible to think of him without smiling or even laughing. His sense of humor was infectious and his generosity was boundless. I’m among many who will miss him greatly and will toast him often with multiple styles of beer.
Danny was hysterical and so welcoming to everyone. I ran into him one night at Guidos and was with friends that did not know him. By the end of the night we were all laughing so hard our stomachs hurt. Just saw him at the 40th reunion and was so glad he made it. Rest easy my friend!
Buford was one of a kind and really helped fuel my passion for homebrewing. I always enjoyed sharing a cold one with him and listening to his hunting stories as well as his exploits during his long glorious history in the beer business. You will be missed buddy!!
