MSgt. Carl Edward Boley, USMC, Ret., age 89, passed away on November 9, 2022. Beloved husband of Linda Boley (nee Schneedle); dearest father of Cynthia Boley, Kathleen (Bill) Mayhue, Jim (Regina) Ray and Chris Boley; loving grandfather of Josh (Taylor) Ray, Rachel Ray, Caleb Ray, Josie Ray, Matthew Mayhue and Maggie Mayhue; dear brother of Carol Proffitt, Bill (Marsha) Boley and Jim (Cathy) Boley; dear brother-in-law of Jack (the late Carolyn) Schneedle, Nancy (Kenny) Koebel and Rick Schneedle; our dear uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend.
Member of VVA Chapter 1028 and First Baptist Church of Arnold.
Services: Visitation at KUTIS SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd., Wednesday, November 16 from 4-8 p.m. Then taken to First Baptist Church of Arnold Thursday, November 17, for visitation 9:30 a.m. until time of funeral at 10:30 a.m. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Memorials to VVA Chapter 1028 or First Baptist Church of Arnold appreciated.
My heart is broken Carl was my (second) Sgt. in Vietnam with HMM 363 in 1966 we called him that because we had a First Sgt. but he was great to us a father figure back in the day. We reconnected at our POP A SMOKE reunion many decades later. Susan and I hated to attend the reunions weather it be HMM363 or POP A SMOKE if Carl & Linda weren’t going. I look back at the St. Louis reunion as one of our favorites visiting with Carl and Linda at home was wonderful. I’M a strong thick headed stubborn Marine but this brings tears to my eyes, I will miss you my friend GOD HAS ANOTHER MARINE TO GUARD THE GATES OF HEAVEN. See you my friend SEMPER FI

Carl was a veteran. He wore the uniform. He did his duty. He sacrificed his youth and endured the separation from loved ones. He served his country with selfless devotion. Now his battles are over. He is gone but not forgotten; for he will always have the undying gratitude of those he served, and the respect of those who served with him. May he rest in eternal peace.

Carl, even in old age looked good in his uniform! We were always talking “military” after church service; sometimes in a kidding way about our respective branches. I’ll miss him greatly!!
