(nee Layton) 93, died peacefully on April 6, 2020. Dorris is the daughter of the late Henry and Nellie Layton, sister of the late Ralph (Loraine) Layton, Margaret (Stephen) Vlodek, and Henry Layton Jr., and loving wife of the late Raymond K. Meibaum. Beloved by son Raymond M. and daughter-in law Janet, son Randy, grandson Raymond E. and his wife Melanie, and dear nieces and nephews. Dorris loved animals and nature and was devoted to wildlife conservation. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Private burial at Jefferson Barracks. Memorial mass and celebration of life are planned for a later date.
I loved Aunt Dorris and will miss her so much. Rest in Peace.
I will always carry my Aunt Dorris in my heart and miss the sweet and loving woman dearly. My Father is now with all his siblings and their parents and spouses. I can still see my Aunt Dorris sitting with Randy who was coloring while Raymond was playing in the other room in their home inMaplewood. Giving you hugs from afar as you grieve the loss of Dorris. She was a vivacious woman when we first met her years ago. You surrounded her in love when she needed it these past few years. You were her champions. Our loving thoughts are with you as you celebrate her life and the treasured memories She has left behind.
Please accept my heartfelt sympathies on your loss. I have many pleasant childhood memories of our extended family gatherings around the holidays so long ago, and adult memories of some outings with Aunt Dorris and my Mom. Dorris loved her plants, animals and nature, and I do, too. I am happy to have known her, and glad that she was my aunt. Rest in Peace, Aunt Dorris.
