Beloved wife of the late Donald Kinderfather; loving mother of Alison, Kurt and Hans (Kristine) Kinderfather and Gretchen (John) Hayes; dear grandmother, aunt, sister-in-law, friend and mentor to many.
Services: A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers tributes may be sent to SLU Women’s Council Scholarship Fund , St. Louis Bombers Rugby Club or an organization of your choice. A service of KUTIS AFFTON CHAPEL.
Dr. Kinderfather was a dynamic person and teacher. I was a student of hers at Southwest High School and Harris Teacher’s College. There was no slacking in PE class. Oh, how I hated running the 440 yard run especially in Tower Grove Park when the new addition was being built on our athletic field. She lived life to the fullest.
Kathleen was a dear friend to my son and to me. She was vibrant and sharp on a range of topics! She was ready for short and long visits all during the days of Jim’s High school years and beyond. She advocated for so many of her causes and was especially cognizant of the importance of community! She was a model to all of us for physical fitness. She took walks throughout our community and would pick up trash others had left behind! She always had a poignant observation and opinion. High point of the year was always the Fourth of July fireworks and parade! I grieve to think we no longer have her with us in body. She will always be with us in fond memories. -SusanBlain

My condolences to the entire family and sorry for your loss. I had the privilege of having Dr. Kinderfather as my homeroom adviser for three years at Southwest High School. She had profound influence on me and I will always be grateful for her caring and guidance.
My sincere condolences to the Kinderfather family. I always remember Mrs. Kinderfather fondly. She was my PE teacher for my first two years at Southwest High School and I can only picture her with a smile on her face! Last year she honored her former students by attending the 50th reunion of our class of 1969.
Her legacy and influence continue. Peace and blessings to you all !
