Kemp, Charles E. Fortified with the Sacraments of the Holy Mother Church Wednesday, March 24, 2021. Beloved husband of the late Jeanette Kemp (nee Leeker); dearest father of Alison Muehlhauser, Cindy (Doug) Cooper, Stephanie (Matt) Adams, Jim Kemp (Michael Slawin) and Mary (Frank) Hosna; dear Grandpa of Emily (Dylan) Tatum, Carlyn Muehlhauser, Adam Kemp, Jason Kemp, Carson Adams, Braden Adams, Aaron Adams, Eliza Adams and the late Jacob Cooper; dear Gigi of Freya Tatum, Finnian Tatum and Morgan Tatum; dear brother of Mary Ann (the late Albert) Deibele, the late Paul (survived by Margaret) Kemp and the late Raymond (the late Barbara) Kemp; dear uncle, cousin and friend to many.
Chuck was born in Vincennes, Indiana on January 4th, 1925, to Wilhelmina Marie Youngstafel and Edmond L. Kemp. He served in the Army Air Corp (Pacific Theater, 868th Bombardment Squadron / B-24 Liberator Snoopers) during WWII. He retired from MSD in 1990 after a long career as a civil engineer. He was a former Commander and longtime member of American Legion Post 111, a member of the Knights of Columbus, La Societe des Qurante Hommes et Huit Chevaux (The 40 & 8), and Annunciation Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Soldier’s Memorial / Missouri Historical Society, 1315 Chestnut Street, St. Louis, MO 63103.
Services are private. Interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Celebration of Life to be announced by the family later this spring.
We will remember his visits to Mark Twain Lake. (One favorite time is when he jumped off the “jumping rock”- which is pretty darn high!).
He was a real trooper, and always ready for a laugh. We were lucky to know him. Rest In Peace Chuck.

Uncle Chuck and Aunt Jan are together again, along with the rest of our relatives who have passed on. My sincere condolences to all the family.
I met Chuck at the Webster Groves Bridge Group! It did not take long for me to determine he was not only a nice guy but also a Real man! Complaining about life was something he knew nothing about. I used to pick up Chuck for bridge twice a week even though he knew my eyesight was not the best. When he asked me if I could see O-K to drive I told him that wasn’t important because I KNEW where I was going. What a thrill it must have been for all those guys that served in World War 11 with him!!
Chuck was just a really great guy!!
