I so enjoyed working with your dad; and, know how happy and proud he was to have his son follow in his footsteps. Ed, you did him proud; and, I’m glad I had the chance to work with you, too.
Loved knowing Ed. Diana my heart goes out to you. He had nothing but kind words for you all the years we have known you both. I know you will miss him deeply as we all will.
Love to all of you.
So very sad to hear that Eddie has passed. He was a genuinely kind and caring man who was devoted to his wife and extended family and committed to his work. He was a great colleague and a loyal friend. He didn’t complain and always looked for something good or funny to say about any situation. He was a wealth of knowledge about just about everything. I’d want him on a trivia team!
His memory will be a blessing to all of us. He’s forever in my heart’s happy memories.
I will always remember Ed for his laugh, his desire to get better and for his friendship. Ed also knew so much about our hometown that I’ll always know him as the King of St Louis.
He will be be undoubtedly missed by many. May he rest in peace
I had the privilege of working with Ed these last several years. My favorite thing about Ed is the way he spoke of his wife, Diana, with such love and adoration. My thoughts are with you and yours at this very difficult time. Our organization will feel the gap.
We had a lot of fun on family vacations. It was a pleasure to know you. Rest in peace.
Ed had one of the greatest minds I’ve ever known. We had been friend for almost 50 years and in all that time he never ran out of things to talk about!
My heart is sad. Anyone who was loved by Eddy felt it deep down in their soul.
My condolences to his family and all those who loved him. He definitely left us too soon.
Dear Diana, Pat, Julie, Mrs. Kammer and Family,
Back in the late 1970s Eddie was like a big brother to me. I would often see him at St. Mary Magdalen when he worked there during the summer months. We would talk for hours while he painted the windows of the entire school. Later, I had the pleasure of watching him meticulously and artfully clean and hand-wax his various cars over the years! He was always listening to music while fixing, building and/or doing something with his hands. Such a hard worker. He taught me about Jimi Hendrix, REO Speedwagon, The Allman Brothers and even Lou Rawls to name but a few.
I was grateful to be an usher in him and Diana‘s wedding. When my time came I vividly remember him handing me a $100 bill at my wedding reception before he left! So Eddie, so generous, so good of him. He would call and always say his signature (gravelly-voiced gangster-like tone) “what-ya-doin’”?
I know I am only “skipping a rock across a vast body of water” by mentioning such things, but they had an impact and a difference. Perhaps what I am really trying to say is that it was an honor to know Eddie, as well as the Kammer family. So sorry to have heard of his passing…
Wishing You Peace, Strength, Love and God’s Every Blessing, Now and Always,
John
No clever words from me. Just speaking from the heart. Ed, although we’ve not talked face-to-face in well over a decade, I’ll remember you for many decades to come! Rest in peace to the coolest and smartest dude I’ve known in a long time. You’ll be missed, sir! )-:
I was sorry to hear the news. I’ve known Eddie since the 70’s through work. He was a very intelligent, respected, and well liked individual. He will be missed.
Ed was my foreman that I worked for at Chrysler. One of the best bosses I ever had. Rest in peace, “boxcar Eddie“
Diana, so sorry to hear about Ed’s passing. I just heard today. My prayers are with you and his family. Cherish your memories and hold them close. Take care, Linda Wheatley
