Passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at the age of 57.
Survived by: sister Lori (Karl) Schultz; brother John; sister Lisa (Rick) Young; nephews Mitchell, Nicholas & Trevor Young; long time special friend Kim Stelfox
Preceded in death by father, Roger E. Jung, and mother, Myra Gray Kramer
Joe was a dear son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and a friend to many.
He served in the Army as a Medical Specialist. Joe was decorated with the Army Achievement medal; Army Service Ribbon; Parachutist Badge and Marksman Badge, Rifle. He was honorably discharged from the Army and was proud to serve his country.
Joe graduated from Lindbergh Senior High School in 1983. He helped with the family car business before enlisting in the Army. After the Army he spent his life helping others. He loved doing anything construction-related and would always figure out how to make a project successful.
He took great pride in helping his siblings this past year with tornado clean-up for his sister and supporting his brother’s new home purchase. His biggest and best asset was his ability to tell stories, embellishing ad libitum, and amply charm anyone who would listen. While his health failed, his smile, laugh, love of friends and family lives on in those he met along the way.
We are honored that Joe was able to be a tissue donor to those in need.
We intensely miss Joe already.
Visitation at Kutis Affton Chapel 10151 Gravois Rd. 63123 on Wednesday, July 13 from 4-8 pm. Funeral procession to depart Kutis Affton Chapel on Thursday at 12 noon to J.B. National Cemetery for Roadside Service at 12:30 pm. with full Military Honors. In lieu of flowers contributions to the Veterans Administration appreciated.
Sending love and strength. I have many fond family memories of Joe. He was a mischievous one and definitely a lively story teller. His unique spark will be missed. Rest In Peace, cuz.
Lori

To all relatives, friends and loved ones of my old buddy Joe, especially Kim; please accept my sincere condolences, I’m very sorry for your, our, loss.
Joe and I knew each other for quite a long time and I appreciate all the wonderful truths expressed in the obituary. Yes, he was a great story teller, he was always there for everyone, he had his own special charm and in all the years I knew him, I never saw him angry!
It will always be a great regret, not having seen him one last time.
See you on the other side, my friend!

I’m so sorry to hear of Joey’s passing. I used to babysit you Jung kids in the early 70’s. Lori was a beautiful very mature 9 year old, Joey the active 7 year old, Johnny the easy going sweetheart, and Lisa was an adorable baby. Lori, John, and Lisa, my heartfelt sympathy goes out to you.
Lori and family,
I am deeply sorry for your immense loss. Prayers to you and yours while you celebrate Joe’s amazing life.
Joe- thank you for your service to this country. See you on the other side!
