Jim proudly served in the US Air Force for over 22 years. He was an avid community volunteer, world traveler, and will be deeply missed.
Services: Memorial service May 10, 2021, 11 am at Concord Trinity Methodist Church 5275 S. Lindbergh Blvd. St. Louis, MO 63126. Reservations are needed for the 11 am service using the website address, concordtrinity.org people can start making reservations on Monday, May 3. The service will be livestreamed to the church’s website, https://www.concordtrinity.org/, at 11 am for all those unable to attend.
Sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. I enjoyed working with him for many years at SLU Med School.
Jim was always so courteous. We had interesting conversations during our Standardized Patient times.

Although we only knew each other briefly, I enjoyed our conversations. Jim had a calm and pleasant personality. And a sharp sense of humor as well. “Earth has no sorrow that heaven can not heal. Everyone at the Gateway Volvo Club is deeply saddened to learn of Jim’s passing. Jim was the founder of the local chapter back in the 1980s and was the current Treasurer. His love of Volvos was second to none, having traveled to Sweden to visit the factory and take delivery of a new Volvo on at least three occasions. He drove each of this Volvos several hundred thousand miles before even considering moving on to the next one.
He was also an avid cyclist.
We will miss him greatly.
My deepest condolences to Jim’s family. I met Jim years ago through Hosteling International. We walked many an enjoyable long distance with our group. Jim was such great company. I was always envious of his many hiking/biking trips abroad. I think the last time I saw him was at a Galloping Gourmet get-together before COVID shut us down. He will be missed.

So sorry to hear about Jim. He lived a full life. We met through work at SLU. I always enjoyed hearing about his activities in the community and his travels. It was always a pleasure to work with him. I’ll miss him.
I was extremely sorry to learn of Jim’s passing away. We were volunteers together at many events for many years thru our involvement with the civic charity organization;Step up St.Louis. We will all miss him greatly. My condolences go out to his family.

So sad to hear of Jim’s passing. I hiked and biked many miles with Jim over the years. He was always busy with one of his activities and had so many interesting stories to tell.
Jim was a fine member of our writing group and held our interest with tales of his many travels. My condolences to his family and friends.
Jim and I met through bicycling, he was the truck driver for many years in Michigan for the West Shoreline Tour and the MUP (Michigan Upper Peninsula) Tour. In addition to the truck driving tasks Jim also was a terrific social director and always successfully made our dinner arrangements.
As a former Missouri person myself, I stayed at Jim’s house on several occasions on my trips to Missouri, or through the city. When visiting my daughter in Kirkwood we always met for breakfast or lunch and covered all the Michigan news and bicycling of course.
In 2013 Jim traveled by train to Jefferson City, picked up my vehicle and drove it back to Kirkwood while my brother and I bicycled to St. Charles on the Katy Trail.
Jim was a wonderful friend and companion. I loved our times together, and will surely miss him greatly.
