He is survived by his loving wife, Suzanne Buehrle-Jeffrey. Tom retired from State Farm Insurance after 40 years. He was a longtime volunteer at the USO at Lambert Field and was devoted to his parish, the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis on Lindell Blvd. He was an accomplished dart player in his younger years. Tom could talk to anyone and he and Suzanne were fortunate to be able to travel the world. Burial with military honors was held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in a private ceremony. A mass and celebration of Tom’s life will be held later in the summer. Masses preferred or donation to USO-MO, 10701 Lambert International Blvd., P.0. Box 10367, 63145 appreciated. Suzanne, I will miss seeing and talking to Tom about historical events. He was a wealth of information and was willing to help just about anyone. He loved talking about his times going to garage sales and going to Normandy which he looked forward to. At the USO we would talk about the latest book we read. He was a good man and will be remembered.
I frequently ran into Tom at shift change as he was leaving and I was starting the next shift. He was always so friendly and courteous. If he was having a bad day, no one would ever guess.
