On February 12th, 2022, Rosemary A. Jearls (nee Hackett) was called to heaven. Rosemary was welcomed into God’s kingdom by her husband of 76 years Louis (Lou) B. Jearls, Sr., beloved parents William and Mary Elizabeth Hackett, and a lifetime of dear family & friends.
Rosemary had one brother, William (Bill), but leaves a large and loving family. Rosemary is survived by daughters Mary Beth and Carol, and a son Louis (L.B.) married to Susan. She leaves her adoring grandchildren Kim (married to James), Kris (married to Steve), Karolyn (deceased), Louie (married to Erin), and Robert. She was blessed by her seven (7) great-grandchildren Samantha, David, Evan, Kaitlyn, Eva, Tyler, and Claire. She also was blessed by two (2) great-great grandchildren Delanie and Caleb. Our lives and our achievements were made possible by her love, support, example, and prayers.
Rosemary’s life was a definite testament to the power of selfless love. She will always be the heart and soul of our family. With a quiet strength and keen sense of humor, Rosemary guided us through many of life’s ups and downs, and adversities.
Her loyalty to those she loved was unfaltering and unconditional. She was a beautiful daughter, caring sister, devoted wife, loving and adored mother, and special grandma, great-grandma, and great-great grandma, and faithful friend. Most of her closest friends she met at Notre Dame High School and during her time as a military wife. She loved the military life! She met her husband while working at Jefferson Barracks. They were stationed at many military bases from Florida all the way to Guam, and she loved them all.
Rosemary knew what mattered most and she placed her family first………always! Her life was a pure example of the power of unconditional love, compassion, a clear sense of right and wrong, and the power of prayer. We all knew she had a “direct line to God”. While she will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, we are comforted by a “lifetime” of unforgettable memories!
Rosemary will be missed and never replaced for all those in her life who knew and loved her. Rosemary’s love, commitment and unbelievable strength are the very foundation “core” we depend on. Thank you so much for giving your very best, loving us so much, and always being there to listen, give us advice (whether we asked for it or not), and ALWAYS being there with a comforting hug and a warm heart. Our lives are better, and we are better people because you walked this earth, and we were the privileged family and friends to have been a part of your life. We will carry your spirit in us for the remainder of our days on this earth and for eternity. We love you!
Services: Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 from 4 to 7 pm at Kutis Funeral Home, 10151 Gravois, St. Louis, MO 63123. Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, February 17th at 11:00 am at St. Catherine Laboure, 9740 Sappington Road, St. Louis, MO. Burial will be on Friday, February 18th at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at 9:45 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Breast Cancer Association or the American Lung Association.

Grandmama as we called Rosemary was a special person. God makes a few extra special people for families to love and cherish. Grandmama was a very special person for me. Growing up I always thought of her as a person who was accomplished, hard working and strict. But as I got older and had kids of my own I quickly learned she was much more.
She was a caring, loving, understanding and thoughtful beacon for our family.
She always had a piece of advice to help you though brought situations. She had a way of making you laugh when you needed to.
I spent 3 months of this past year with Grandmama. She needed extra help to get past a broken ankle and I “volunteered” to stay with her and Mary Beth. That time I spent here is more special to me than anyone will ever know. I have great memories of our daily exploits.
Grandmama I will miss you. You will have a special place in my heart. I will see you again one day. I know you are waiting for me in Heaven.

Rosemary was a truly amazing person. In the 30 years since I became part of the family her big heart and quick wit carved out a special place in my heart. She will be fondly remembered and dearly missed. Rest in peace Rosemary (Grandmama), I love you!
