on Tuesday, May  24th, 2022.  87.  Fortified with the sacraments of Holy Mother Church.  Dear husband of Mary (nee Walsh) for 63 years.  Father of Mark (Agnes), Jim (Patty), Paul (Kay), and Mary Bathon (Joe). Loving Grandpa to 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Beloved Dad, coach, scout leader, and church usher. Born in Bloomington, IL and moved to St. Louis as a child.  Quickly became a lifelong Cardinals fan and celebrated 8 world championships. (Much to the dismay of his central Illinois cousins.)  He had a similar devotion to Dairy Queen.

Frank was a lithographer by day, printing countless outdoor billboards across St. Louis and America.  By night, he coached his sons in baseball and soccer across the fields of south city and south county.

Frank served his country for 3 years as an MP in the Army guarding the nuclear lab in New Mexico and/or  catching the occasional stray dog. He married his sweetheart in 1959 and bought a house in south St. Louis which remained their home for nearly the next 50 years.

They were  active at St. Mary Magdalen parish in the city where Frank served as an usher for nearly 50 years.  After a move to Arnold and a raucous 80th birthday party, he began to slow down.

Frank spent the last few years in declining health and on hospice.  He passed away Tuesday afternoon in his home surrounded by family.
