On December 9, 2020, David A. Haffner went to be with his Lord. He was preceded in death by his wife Donna (Moore) who he lovingly cared for until her death. David is survived by his children; Jan (Greg) Jolly, Jeff (Mindy) Haffner, Judy (Jeffrey) Skinner and Tom (Krista) Haffner. His grandchildren; Samantha, Megan, Luke, Joshua, Rachel, Andrew, Matthew, Philip, Emilie, Jacob, Carlton, and 7 great grandchildren.
David was born in Milwaukee, WI and entered the U.S. Navy at age 17 serving in World War II. He moved to St. Louis where he met and married Donna. He worked as a tool and die maker at American Can Co. for 45 years while raising his family. During his life, David was involved in planting two churches where he served faithfully in many capacities. He was a member of Bible Study Fellowship for more than 20 years including 5 as a group leader.
After his beloved wife’s death, David moved to Friendship Village in Sunset Hills where he was involved in serving wherever he was needed. He will be missed by many dear friends as well as the Brentwood Breakfast Bunch.
Services: Due to COVID-19 restrictions, private visitation at Kutis South County. Interment J.B. National Cemetery. There will be a Celebration of Life to remember Dave Monday, December 14, 2020, 11:30 am at Well Spring Family Church 5293 S. Dave was a special person and deeply loved the Lord. He rarely missed the breakfast, once every month at International House of Pancakes, and shared personal, family, and Friendship Village information and needs. Dave’s importance for the Lord’s work was so evident as he left the breakfast early every month to be involved in Friendship Village ministry. Praise the Lord for his example and service.
Our condolences to Jan and the whole Haffner Family. Dave was a good guy and I always enjoyed talking to him when he brought their car in for repairs. Dave loaned us their pop up camper for a trip to Orlando Florida back in 1975. Thanks Dave for your service to our great country in WW2.
We lost a dear friend .We treasure a friendship with the Haffners since we were in the Young Married Class at Brentwood Bible Church together so long ago and even had the opportunity to visit a few times at the Pancake House with the group when we visited St Louis from Colorado

Dave was one of the adults in my life growing up, but over the last few years I came to enjoy my friendship with him even more than the many years before. He prayed for our ministry faithfully and supported it, so I enjoyed calling him to thank him for his gifts. His number one prayer request was always that his life would glorify Jesus. He acknowledged his challenges but never dwelt on them, and he was always encouraging to me. He was a pleasure! He lived a truly great life and leaves an example for me of a lifetime following Jesus.

I have many good memories of time spent growing up with the Haffner family. I remember well your father’s unwavering faith, his strong work ethic, and his dedication to service and family. I remember him being patient with some of Judy & my shenanigans. I appreciated his wonderful ministry with Sam at Friendship Village. I feel grateful to have known him. Wishing you peace as you grieve the loss of your Dad.
A life well lived. True love was shown by your Dad in the loving care that he gave to your Mom. Real friends are friends of many years (48) and your dad was one of them. The memorial service was a testamony of God’s work in the life of your dad. We send our love.
