Giles, Patricia (nee Ruzicka) Pat Giles passed away on Wednesday, September 15th at the age of 79. Born in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Pauline (nee Grubar) Ruzicka. Pat married Edward J. Giles in 1965. She was the loving mother of Michael (Keely) Giles, Beth (Robert) Ward, and Mark (Susan) Giles; extremely proud grandmother of Daniel, Robbie, Lauren, Grace, Delaney, Olivia, Kayta, Eleanor, and Karregan; dear sister of Robert (Sue) Ruzicka; dearest aunt, cousin and friend.
Patricia courageously battled cancer and related complications for 37 years. She was an inspiration to many as an honored survivor in the Leukemia Lymphoma Society Team in Training program where she participated in walks all over the world. Pat retired from Washington University as a Project Coordinator. She exemplified a fighting spirit and lived a full and eventful life. Pat loved to travel, had a great smile and really knew how to work the room. While she will be truly missed by all who love her, we take comfort in knowing that she is reunited with her beloved husband Edward after 30 years.

The family will receive friends from 4 – 7:30 pm on Sunday September 26, 2021 at Kutis Funeral Home, South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, Mehlville, MO. A memorial service will follow at 7:30 pm.
Mike, Beth and Mark: Your mom was very special to me. She always had a friendly, welcoming smile. I enjoyed visiting with her by phone over the last few years. The last time we saw her was at lunch on the hill with Bob and Sue. What a fun afternoon. Thankfully she is now at peace and pain free. She will be missed.

I met your mom and dad on my first date with Denny. It was on a picnic at Springdale. We shared many picnics with all of you in the years to come. What fun times.
There are so many wonderful memories.
After your dad died, Pat and I traveled to D.C., California, Branson, Mexico and Alaska. I could fill a book with those stories.
She was full of adventure and hope always. You kids and her grandchildren were all that she lived for. She was so proud of each and everyone of you.

Pat was a great friend that I knew for about 30 years and first met her at S.C.D.C. I remember when I was trying everything to sell my mothers house for two years with no success. She came and blessed her houise and it was sold within two weeks.
You will be missed a lot Pat. I always enjoyed our time together. I remember the one time Ginnie and you and myself played scrabble. It was such a lively game with the words that were being played. We all have a lot of wonderful memories.
My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family during this difficult time. There is nothing compared to pain death brings for the ones who are left behind
Be comforted that one day you will see her again.

Mike, Beth, & Mark, your mother was a very special friend to me. I moved here from Red Bud, ILL. She was the first person I met when I joined SC DC. We became friends immediately. We shared so much over the years including some very special times. Life has changed so much for her, especially these last few years. She is at peace now after a life of being a good and faithful servant. I’m so sad.
Pat was a great friend from SCDC. She had a great sense of humor and smile. She was beautiful inside and out and will be truly missed.

So many memories from St Tim”s, softball games etc. Sorry for your loss. She was a really good person. We will never forget sitting in the heat and looking for a shady spot while yelling for Beth and her teammates to run faster. Had a lot of laughs about that.
