Services: Memorial visitation at Kutis Affton Chapel, 1051 Gravois, on Thursday, September 9, 5-8 p.m. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Simon the Apostle Catholic Church, 11011 Mueller Rd., 63123, on Friday, September 10, at 10 a.m.
I work in the nursing home Leona resided at. She was one of my best residents. The staff and I loved her. She was so sweet, extremely smart, humorous, and an all out wonderful person. Things will not be the same without her and she will be deeply missed. She enjoyed doing so much including the ice cream social ( she loved sherbet), church, BINGO, happy hour, going outside, reading, entertainment, music, arts and crafts, and so much more. Her religion was very important to her. She LOVED cards. She would play it all the time every day. She even taught me and another resident how to play 3 of a kind. Her and I once spent over an hour sorting through all the decks we had and organizing them into complete decks. There will never be another Leona and I have such good memories of her. My deepest condolences to Lynn, Gary, and the rest of the family. She is in a better place with Ben, her siblings, and her parents. May Leona’s memory be a blessing. May she Rest In Peace. Goodbye Leona. I’ll miss you. It was a gift to know you.
