Fortner, Dorothy Lee  (nee: Boardman)  Wednesday, August 19, 2020. Devoted wife of the late Fred T. Fortner.  Beloved mother of Ronald (Sabine) Fortner, Linda (Joe) Moore,  Kenneth (Kay) Fortner, Nancy (Jeff)  Miles, Peggy (Dennis Phinney) Fortner, David (Terri) Fortner, Carol (Steve) Myers, Judy Kay Fortner, Lisa (Gregory) Roy and the late Michael (survived Leanne Bales) Fortner, Sue (survived Mark) Cornwell. Dear grandmother, great grandmother, sister, sister in law, aunt, cousin and friend.

Preceded in death by grandchildren Vickie Lynn Brennan, Aaron Thomas Miles, Madeline Lynne Fortner and great grandchild Bella Houston.

Dorothy, affectionately known as Dot, married Fred on July 10, 1943.  They were married for 57 years and raised 11 children.  She was blessed with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dot was a homemaker and an avid dog lover.  She enjoyed working in her yard, watching her ‘stories’, and playing cards and backgammon.  She loved going on long drives to enjoy the fall colors.  She was loving, by nature, and attracted the admiration of all who met her.  Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family.  She especially enjoyed the holidays when all of her family were together. She was a wonderful woman and will be loved and missed by so many.

Revelation 21:4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.
