Hilda was a dear friend to the entire Jennewein family. She embraced our children and cared for them as her own grandchildren. She was delightful to be around, always thoughtful and kind. She adored and was adored by her loving family. Her whit, laugh and smile will be missed by many.
Hilda was a remarkable person who had a remarkable life, growing up as a child in war-torn Germany. All she wanted in life was a family. She used to tell me stories of meeting her husband Gus and how, like a prince, he took her to a far away place where they could raise a family, own a home and live peacefully. She loved her family so much, always talking about how proud she was of them. And of course, she loved babies! She was like a baby whisperer. She always seemed to know what they wanted. I loved her stories and I laughed her sense of humor. She took care of our sons, Ryan and Connor, and so many other children. She doted on them as if they were her own. I loved her stories. We were so lucky to have moved into the house across the street from the Fogts. I’ll miss her deeply. We all will.
