age 79, of Dardenne Prairie, Missouri passed away on February 17, 2022 in O’Fallon, Missouri. She was born in Blooming Rose, Missouri on September 27, 1942 to George “Arthur” and Zelma Lena Poe (née Smothers).
Evelyn grew up in the Baptist church and was baptized at the age of 17.
She graduated from Licking High School then moved to St. Louis, MO where she met her husband, Richard (divorced after 43 years, but remained friends). They raised two daughters, Christina and Lisa, in Fenton, MO where she volunteered in several organizations and held many positions over the years including Girl Scouts, Mothers’ Club, and Our Savior Lutheran’s chapter of LWML. She attended St. Louis Community College-Meramec. Over the years Eve worked at Curlee Clothing Co., the Fenton Chrysler plant, Fotomat and Maritz, LLC.
She moved to the O’Fallon, Missouri area in 2013.
She enjoyed reading, playing Scrabble, browsing Facebook and spending time with her grandchildren, great-granddaughter, family and friends.
Evelyn is survived by her daughters, Christina M. (Greg) Fultz, and Lisa M. Kuehn-Schisler-Robinson; grandchildren, Danielle (Gio) Ortiz, Michael (Stephanie) Fultz, Anthony (Breanna) Schisler, Alec (Kaylee Wilmoth) Schisler, and Bradyn Robinson; great-granddaughter, Luciana Ortiz; her sister, Lee Breeden; and sisters-in-law Bobbie Jean Tripp, and Maggie (Roy Wheelock) Kuehn. She will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, George “Arthur”; her mother, Zelma Lena Poe; siblings and in-laws: Jimmy Leroy Smothers, Charlie Breeden, Otis Tripp, Jan (Bill) Edgar, Jerry Junior Poe, Maybelle (Paul) Breeden, Glenda Kaye Poe; and her ex-husband, Richard Kuehn.
The family would like to thank the caregivers of DaVita Lake St. Louis Dialysis Center and Aging Well Health Care.– We are grateful for your outstanding care!
The family will receive friends Sunday, February 20, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 4:00 p.m. at Kutis Funeral Home-Affton, 10151 Gravois Road, St. Louis, Missouri 63123. I am so sorry for your loss. She was very sweet. I remember Evelyn as being so bubbly and cheerful. I’m sure she is no longer suffering and is her bubbly self with Jesus.
My thoughts and prayers are with you, Lisa, Chris, and therest of the family, and friends. I tembrr what a fun parent your Mom was when we were in high school, Lisa. When we had parties or sleepovers she would laugh, joke, and carry on with the rest of us. You could see she was an active part of your life.
