Entered into Eternal Life on Wednesday May 6, 2020, at the age of 97. Beloved husband of Loretta Dolan for 71 years; dearest father of Rev. Mark, Mike (Sue), Pat (Dottie) and Jim (Jackie) Dolan and Anne (Dave) Barringhaus; loving grandfather and great-grandfather; dear brother of Lucille Mitsdarffer; our dear uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend to many. He will be remembered for his Irish wit.
Mr. Dolan served in the U.S. Navy from 1942-1946 as a Yeoman 1st Class. Upon his discharge, he worked for International Shoe Company from 1946-1958. He then became an agent for State Farm Insurance until he retired April 30, 1991, with most of those years having an office in the Crestwood Bank Building.
He was a longtime member of St. Justin Martyr Catholic Church, a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, and made many White House retreats.
Services: Private entombment at Resurrection Mausoleum. A memorial Mass to be celebrated at a later date. Masses preferred or memorials to St. Justin Catholic Church or White House Retreat appreciated. A KUTIS SOUTH COUNTY SERVICE

We extend our sympathy to all – Uncle Bernie will be missed by so many people. I remember him in his “green” Irish sweater always recalling my birthday and anniversary date -he was a master of dates. His love of God and his family was always evident. Bernie, Rest In Peace.
Bernie loved and was very proud of his family. We were happy he celebrated his beautiful life of 97 years on April 21st and his wedding anniversary of 71 wonderful years. He was a friend to all. His smile and jokes will be missed. He was a great man and everyone was blessed to know him.
We pray for his family as they remember all the good memories.
We are so sad to lose one of the men on the earth. He and Loretta were our friends neighbors and role models for years. God bless you and your family
Uncle Bernard and Aunt Loretta have run a remarkable race together for 71+ years and they’ve certainly left a Dolan Family Legacy in their sons and daughter. May Uncle Bernard’s soul now rest in God’s eternal peace.
So blessed to have been able to know Bernie. He always felt like another uncle to me. All my prayers to Loretta and the entire Dolan family. I know your loss is great but the gift of Bernie being in your life is something you will be blessed with for the rest of your lives. Tears are being shed in California.

My condolences to all of the Dolans especially you Loretta. You were all very lucky to have him as long as you did! He had a great life! He was one of the funniest and kindest men I’ve ever known. When we hear Oh Danny Boy it will be bittersweet remembering him. And in his recent words we will see him on the other side!

To all of Loretta and Bernard’s great kids, we really appreciated being included in Bernard’s “Farewell Tour” this past year! We had a very nice last visit with good company and good food. Bernard said he didn’t really need the walker, it was just for sympathy (typical Bernard humor). He will surely be missed, but we all know he had done a great job living his life to its fullest and was very ready to proceed to heaven. Our lives are all much better having known him and his family. Thanks for sharing him with us!
With sorrow I learn of Bernie’s passing. I knew Bernie, my first cousin, when I was a child and Bernie was a young man in the 1940s, but we lost contact as we both went about our lives. Then, about 20 years ago, Bernie called me out of the blue, and we renewed our kinship. After that, we talked on the phone several times a year. One of our common interests was the life and times of Patrick Dolan, our great-grandfather. Bernie had a big heart. I will miss those phone calls.
