DeWalle, Donald David age 69, from the loving arms of his family to the loving arms of Jesus, entered into the Kingdom of Heaven on Saturday, February 11th, 2023.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Barbara (nee Henderson), son John and Tabitha (nee Hanson); grandsons Michael, Daniel, and Joey; sister Jean Snook, mother-in-law Joyce Henderson (nee Colas). He was preceded in death by parents Richard Sr. and Sophie (nee Rycharski) DeWalle, brother Richard, Jr. and his much beloved, youngest son, Mark.
Don was a proud third generation bricklayer, retiring from Bricklayers’ Local 1. As a bricklayer, he used his hands to help build St. Louis, and as a husband, father, grandfather and friend, built a beautiful life through his heart.
He was an incredibly proud grandfather of Michael, Daniel and Joey, all of which brought him the greatest joy and whom he loved immeasurably. He will be remembered for his commitment to his family, his humble and gentle demeanor, and his kindness for all. Don will be missed as an uncle, brother-in-law, friend and neighbor. He was loved and called Dad by many of his son’s friends, too numerous to count.
Services: Funeral at KUTIS SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd. Saturday, Feb. 18th, 10:00am; Interment Park Lawn Cemetery to follow. Visitation Friday, February 17th from 4-8pm.

Your family has a special place in our hearts. I remember when Don and John helped brick up a wall in Our son Brian’s house. Such servants hearts in both John and Don. So many shared events watching kids grow up. It is never about who we are but whose we are and I have no doubt Don is with Jesus now. It is with a heavy heart that I extend our family’s deepest sympathy in the passing of Don. My dear cousin you have had more than your share of loss, yet you continue to lift up everyone else. Don was a great Husband/Father/Grandfather/Uncle/Man. I could go on with many other wonderful things. He was always there for so many of us without question. It is terrible that he had to go so soon. Now, both Don and Mark can guide us. Barb and Family, the Dierker family has you all in our thoughts and prayers.

Barb, thank you so much for texting me about Don. I considered him a valued friend, and after retirement we just lost touch. I still think of him so often: the funny stories he shared, his upbeat personality, and I loved working with him because he was always so positive, and always helped the job go smoothly.
Marilyn and I will keep you and your family in our prayers. On a positive note, I can just visualize the reunion he shared with Mark after he went through the gates of heaven.
