Beloved wife of the late Harry Coleman; loving and cherished mother of Cindy (Mike) Schaper and Bev (Pam Vaccaro) Coleman; dearest grandmother of Chris (Jeff Calvi) Schaper, Brad Schaper, Michelle Schaper and Brendan Schaper and great-grandmother “G-G” of Elijah, Luci, Jordan and Gavin; dear sister of Jeanette (the late Fred) Reising and the late Fran Rich and Marian Brcic; our dear aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend.
Service: Funeral from Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, on Saturday, February 26, 9:30 am to St. Catherine LaBoure Catholic Church for 10:00 am mass. Service concludes at church. Memorials to St. Jude or the Leukemia Society, appreciated. Visitation Friday, 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
Bev and Cindy, I’m so, so sorry to hear about your mom. I know this is incredibly difficult to get through, but I’m sure you’ll all help each other through.

Cindy & Bev: I was so sad to hear of your Mom’s passing, but so grateful to see you all at my Mom’s funeral. I think they are all dancing in heaven now! There were so many great times we had growing up and Dorothy was like another Mom to me, always so sweet and caring. She sent me a Christmas card this year saying she thought I needed a card from home! These are challenging times but I will be keeping you all in prayer.

What can anyone say at a time like this that will ease your sorrow; the best I can do is say I am so sorry. You were both so blessed to have a mother and a father that were so in love with each other and never hesitated to let it show to everyone…I always looked upon them as the ideal couple. You are able to look back at so many great memories that I can only hope the memories will help soften your grief.

This is Diane Mary Jo and Sue friend .
I have known the family for over 50 years. Always go to the cousins reunion. I know this sounds crazy but this year I took your mom to the restroom and actually got to hold her hand and had a great conversation with her in that short time. Learned a few things about her and her about me.
That short connection made a memory. Stay strong!

Such a beautiful farewell to beloved Dorothy we experienced at SCL. She would have been so proud of her girls and her grandkids, whose love for their matriarch came out in the excellent roles each daughter and her grandchildren had, as they remembered their Dorothy’s life-giving qualities and her cherished legacies. What a treasure and example she served as to all!
Now, Dorothy will be at rest and in peace, filling in Harry of all that has been happening and the final song played at the delight of all the mourners. “Seventy-six Trombones” will never, ever be played that we won’t think of dearest Dorothy. Eternal rest, our friend!
