age, 49, died on August 19, 2021.
Beloved son of John (deceased) and Carol. Proud father of Joe and Elizabeth. Loving brother to Cathy and Ryan. Dear uncle, nephew, brother-in-law, cousin, godfather, and friend to all he knew. John was a lover of words, both written and spoken. A prolific, talented writer and published author – John had a true passion and gift for writing. His command of the English language was rivaled only by his command of a room. As a member of South County Toastmasters – Club 1957, John was a skillful and eloquent orator who could hold his audience rapt.
Most importantly, John will be remembered as a kind, compassionate, and caring human being. John’s positive presence, wonderful sense of humor, friendly smile, and contagious laugh will be sorely missed by all his family and friends. Our hearts are breaking at his early departure from us.
One of John’s final wishes was to become an organ donor, as it was his greatest desire to be of service to others.
Funeral Wednesday, August 25, 9:30 a.m.from KUTIS AFFTON CHAPEL, 10151 Gravois to St. Andrew Church, 309 Hoffmeister Ave. for a 10:00 a.m. Mass. Interment Mt. Olive Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Masses or memorial contributions may be made to American Foundation for Suicide Prevention would be greatly appreciated. Visitation Tuesday 4 – 8 p.m.

We are saddened to hear about the loss of John. You have had too much loss in a short period of time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and you family.

My deepest sympathy to you and your family. Two losses in such a short period of time is hard to comprehend. My prayers for peace and comfort.
Peace for John and everyone in his family and all his friends. I am grateful for the friendship I shared with John. We were able to be ourselves together through many struggles and successes. “Sitting in Limbo” (…like a bird with out a song) has seemed so appropriate as I remember him.

I would like to offer my condolences to you and your family during this difficult time. I was a classmate of John at SLUH. I remember John for his kindness, his humor, and his faith. I just recently found out about his passing, and I am sorry that I was unable to attend his funeral Mass. Know that John and your family are in my prayers. I will be having a Mass offered for John at my home parish of Holy Name of Jesus.
It is with great sorrow that we learned of John’s passing. He was a good friend to my husband who was a classmate of his at SLUH. I didn’t know him nearly as well but still remember his broad smile and kind demeanor. John touched many people and we are truly sorry for your loss.
Not what I wanted to hear. John was extremely intelligent and passionate. I will miss him. He was my college freshman year roommate.
