It is with tremendous sadness, the extended family of Eric (Rick) Bischoff announce his unexpected passing on March 16, 2023 at the age of 46.Rick was the beloved husband of Amy Bischoff (nee Futhey), loving and adoring father of their three children: Madison, Colin, and Lincoln; cherished son of Edwin and Charlene Bischoff, brother to Carin (Mike) Rooney and Elliot (Ashley) Bischoff. He was loved and admired by many as a son, brother, husband, father, nephew, son-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle to countless nieces and nephews, cousin, Godfather and great friend to so many.
Rick loved fully and gave selflessly to anyone he met. Rick was a long-time Webster resident and alum of Webster Groves High School (class of 1996) where he met and then later married Amy, his high school sweetheart. He worked at Freddie’s Market, Webster Shell and CJ Muggs, which Rick valued so much as it allowed him to be around people. He was the ‘Norm’ from Cheers in Webster.
He earned his Eagle Scout award and backpacked in the mountains of the Boy Scout Camp Philmont. Rick saved lives. In addition to donating a kidney to his brother-in-law, his wishes of donating tissue after passing were fulfilled.
Rick was a devoted acolyte of Holy Redeemer Church in Webster Groves. He joined the Catholic Church prior to his marriage, and remained a leader of the RCIA program. Rick was also actively involved in the ACTS community, where he will be dearly missed during Saturday morning coffee gatherings.
He loved his family deeply, always available with a kind word and helping hand, and never missed the chance to chat up a friend or a stranger who would soon become a new friend.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 25th at Holy Redeemer Church, Webster Groves at 9:00 AM followed by a funeral Mass beginning at 11:00 AM.
Burial and Celebration of Life will be determined at a later time.
Amy, I am sending you my sympathy, my prayers, and my love. He was such a good man and such a good asset to a RCIA team. I will miss him terribly and I know you are meeting with father and Pat this afternoon. I will be praying that goes very smoothly. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.
Rick was such a kind, generous friend to so many. Our hearts ache with sadness for Amy and the kids and his family. I was privileged to serve with Rick on the Holy Redeemer ACTS Core Team, and my husband Tim was friends with Rick as well. Rick will be dearly missed. May he be welcomed into the loving and merciful arms of Jesus and may his soul rest in peace. May God hold you in your sorrow
I am so sorry for your tremendous loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family in this difficult time.

I have know Rick for 8 years through Franklin Energy and the Ameren Illinois Energy Efficiency Programs. He was one of the first to contact our company on the programs. His insight and leadership was very invaluable to us. A truly down to Earth great guy. He will be missed! Our condolences and prayers to his family. Rest In Peace Rick
Amy and kids, you are in my thoughts every day. Sending you lots of love and prayers to get through the toughest times.
Rick was an amazing guy.
Always friendly, radiating positive energy and kindness.
Brilliant in fixing things.
I will always remember our brief talks, his friendly wave and smile.
Rick was such a special man who will stay with many of us forever.
I am so very very sorry for your loss. May his memory be eternal.
Not enough who have walked this earth truly make you feel loved. That was Rick. One of the kindest, friendliest and most giving people I ever knew. I loved our times serving on ACTS retreat teams. When my son John was pursuing his Eagle Scout rank, Rick always asked about his progress. Gosh I will miss him terribly. I know there’s a hole in your heart, Amy. But we all love you and your beautiful children. You are not alone. We will be with you, always.
John and I have known Rickie and the Bischoff family for years. What a sadness losing him! His memory will last forever!
So saddened by this news! I hope this wonderful family can find peace in his memory.
Rick, I met you a couple times. You were very informative with what you knew. Your professionalism excelled beyond my expectations! Your charm and charisma rubbed off on others including myself. It won’t be long and you will be using your skills for new life skills in HEAVEN! Keep up the good work up there!
