David L. Wucher passed away Sunday, June 13 at the age of 80 with his family at his side. Beloved husband of 54 years to Claudine (Schmittgens) Wucher; loving father of Susan, Pamela, Kathleen (Mike), Mary (Dennis), David, and Kevin; dear grandfather of Emily, Zack (Jenna), Haleigh, Ben, Grant, Nate, Natalie, Ruby, Grace, Lucas, Evan, Lucy, and Charlie; our dear brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.

Dave grew up in St. Louis with his parents, the late Carl and Martha Wucher and his two brothers. He was a graduate of Bishop Dubourg High School and went on to receive his bachelor’s degree from Saint Louis University. He was employed by Ameren U.E. from 1962 until his retirement on October 1, 1998. Dave worked as an accountant and was later promoted to manager of Rate Accounting. He ended his career as Assistant to the Controller. For many years, Dave enjoyed preparing income taxes for numerous family and friends. He greatly enjoyed doing this, turning it into wonderful visits with each family while he worked.

Dave was a lover of baseball as a player and a fan. He spent many years enjoying his time on his U.E. slow-pitch softball team, the “Oldtimers.” He was an avid fan of Cardinals baseball, Blues hockey, and football. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife, kids, and grandkids throughout the years. He was a constant provider for his entire family. He was a friend to anyone he met and always had a smile and a kind word to share. He is greatly missed by all that knew him.

Services; Funeral from Kutis South County Chapel (5255 Lemay Ferry) on Thursday 6/17 10AM for 10:30AM mass at Mary Mother of the Church. Interment Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Visitation, Wednesday 4-8PM.
