Carol Sue Witte was born on 4/10/42 to David Earl and Marie Morton in rural Dent County,
Missouri. She was raised with her siblings, Wanda, Dave, Marshall, Gary, Stan, Randy, and
Marylyn. She married Johnny Tune and was blessed with three children Brian, Laura and Lisa.
Her life was challenged with untimely deaths of all of her brothers and her husband. She has
since lost her parents and sisters leaving her the matriarch of the family.

In July of 1988 she married Jerry Witte and inherited three stepchildren. Her family began to
grow by marriages and grandchildren began to arrive. Carol was crazy about children and
worked very hard to be a part of all of their lives, all 12 of them. Now with the addition of
grandchildren getting married and having babies she has 9 great grandchildren. They have all
known her as their “MeMe”, which has become her name to family and many friends. Nothing
could make her happier than to create an opportunity to spoil them with her full attention and
some gifts too. In fact babysitting was a favorite experience. She truly valued her family life.
Carol also loved to serve in her church. She always put her heart into her efforts from teaching
VBS to leading Senior Adult luncheons. Many valued friendships resulted from her
volunteering.

A sudden stroke resulted in 4 plus months of attempted recovery to no avail as God had other
plans for her and she passed away on 5/5/23 at the age of 81 years.

She leaves to mourn her husband, best friend and companion Jerry, her children, Brian Tune,
Laura Dunden (Jim) and Lisa Kimker, and stepchildren Jay Witte (Carolyn), Cathy Hancock
(Chris), and Lisa Volmert. Those who will miss their “MeMe” are grandchildren-Adam (Anna),
Alex (Lisa), Samantha (Justin), Nick, Cassandra, Colin, Christian, Allison, Michael, Gage
(Trysten), Tate, and Breck, great grandchildren-Joey, Lizzy, Nate, Nora, Tony, Jane, Lucas,
Brooklyn and Blaire, Carol is also survived by sisters in law, nieces, nephews, cousins, a special
ex son in law, and many friends and neighbors who will never forget her.

Services will be held on Thursday 5/11/23 at The Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, Sunset
Hills. Visitation at 10:00 am, service at 11:00 am. Burial to follow at St. Lucas Cemetery.
Memorials preferred to the church or the charity of choice.
