Robert Joseph Winkler, aged 67, passed away May 15, 2023, at his home in St. Louis, Missouri.
Robert was born in St. Louis on March 2, 1956, to Raymond and Elaine (whom preceded him). He is the oldest sibling of seven and survived by; Teresa, Rick(Kathy), Debby(Joe)and David. He is preceded by siblings Doug(Brenda)and Roger.
He is survived by and the beloved father of; Krissy, Kathy, Jill(Dan), Lara(Eric) and Robby(Jamie).
Robert was the adoring grandfather of; Kyler, Hailee, Kalob, Cailey, Braydon, Noah, and Lily.
In his youth, Rob enjoyed time with his siblings, including his love of playing such sports as; baseball, football, and soccer.
Rob would go on to graduate from Southwest Missouri State with a degree in Chemistry. He would ultimately use his education as a well respected and dedicated chemist for The Kiesel Company.
Rob’s passions included; his family, being a devout Catholic and attending church, waterfowl hunting, fishing, watching and discussing sports.
But, most of all, what brought joy to his life was spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He was thrilled to be a part of any moment of their lives. Especially, spending time at their various athletic games. He made it a point to never miss one, no matter how busy he may have been.
Rob had many great qualities, but his greatest, was that of a doting and adoring father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He lived his life in the teachings of the Bible and the word of Jesus. He was a generous and caring individual who taught everyone he knew a lesson in humility and love.
Rob would sacrifice any of his possessions for anyone who was in need. He never asked for anything for himself. No kinder soul has ever graced us with their presence. The world was a brighter place because of him. His family, and everyone who knew him, are better people because of him.
Rob, you have now arrived at your beloved pearly gates of heaven to be with our revered God. Your long road has come to end, but you will never be forgotten or your grace on this earth taken for granted. You will forever be in our hearts and loved beyond measure.

Rob and I were fortunate to duck hunt together . This created a life-long friendship that flourished through the years. The time spent conversing with Rob created a wealth of fond memories! Such a genuine, honest, loving, intelligent man. My friend Rob, lived a great life! I am honored to call him my friend.

I had the opportunity to spend two years with Rob at Benedictine College as he was the QB for the football team. He was a talented athlete and a good man. I am saddened by his passing, and send my condolences to all of the family. Especially to sister Terry.

Sorry for your lossTrish and I send our prayers for the family
I worked with Rob at The Kiesel Company for years.
When you saw him, he would smile and quietly walk by and say “hello”.
I just saw him recently at my husbands memorial on March 18th.
He hugged me and whispered in my ear
” Deb,we both made it ”
Meaning…we had both battled cancer a few years ago. I’ll never forget those words.
My deepest sympathy to his family.
He really was so so compassionate, sweet man!

I’ve been going on White House Retreats with Rob, his dad, and his brothers for years. Rob would always volunteer to handle the altar duties at all of our Retreats. He was a good man. I will miss him.
Condences to the Winklers, all of his family and all those whom he touched.
Rob and I were boyhood friends. Like, Jim, I went to St. Francis grade school with him. We enjoyed many times together. We shared the same birthday. He and I and 2 other friends from Vianney made a film together called Black Bart’s revenge where he bested me after a jailbreak in the woods near Jefferson Barracks. I have many fond memories of him and am sad to hear of his passing. It sounds like he lived a good adult life sharing the Word of our Lord. He will be missed.
Childhood memories of Rob and sis Teresa at SFA and beyond are happy ones. God’s strength as you grieve the loss of your loved one. Kim Jones Beck
