Willa Shirley Dalton, 91 of St. Louis, Missouri peacefully passed away on June 30, 2020, at her home. She was born on February 6, 1929, in Cape Girardeau Missouri to the late Floyd and Hazel Estes. She was the second oldest of 10 children. She was preceded in death by her late husband Charles H. Dalton Sr., on September 11, 1981. She is survived by step daughter Catherine Jane (Janie Dalton) McCann (Joe), her six children: Toni Naes (Roger), Ricky Dalton (Carol), Charles Dalton, Jr. (Maureen), Malinda Aufmuth (Mike), Robert Dalton (Terry) and Rebecca Walker (Steve). She was the beloved Grandmother to James Peppers (Dawn), Ben Naes (Jenn), Jason Dalton Taylor (Liz), Matthew Dalton (Danielle), Sarah Jane Dalton, Charles Dalton III (Meghan), Zac Lawson (Ashley) and Aydan Walker. She was also blessed to be a bonus Grandmother to: Tina (McCann) Holland, Teresa (McCann) Forrest, Erinn (Young) DeLausses, Brian Sloss, Melissa Lydon, Anna Aufmuth and Sam Aufmuth and their families. She was preceded in death by Granddaughter Angela Dalton. Dearest Great Grandmother to Joshua Peppers (Karly), Jacob Peppers (Lauren), Milo Naes, Violet Naes, Melody Naes, Jake Dolan, Dylan Dolan and Great-Great Grandmother to Joey and Kamryn Peppers. She was preceded in death by Great Granddaughter Lilly Naes. Dear Sister to surviving siblings: Mary Nickless (Boonville, IN), Jack Estes (Cape Girardeau, MO), Carl Estes, (Scott City, MO), Becky Miles (Madison, AL), and Lloyd Estes (Benton, MO). She was preceded in death by siblings: Charles (Sonny) Estes, Arnell Carbaugh, Donnie Estes and Kim Estes.Dear Sister-in-Law, Aunt, Great Aunt, Great-Great Aunt, cousin and friend to many.Shirley was privileged to enjoy a 12 year companionship with her dear friend Jack Benson until his death in 2012. They enjoyed many adventures together including motorcycle riding, eating out, taking long drives, visiting the casinos and following the band Well Hungarians. Shirley was the neighborhood Avon Lady for over 30 years. She retired from Schnucks (Baptist Church & Butler Hill) after 25 years of service, retiring at the age of 78.
Services: Funeral from KUTIS SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd., on Monday, July 6, Visitation Monday, 10a.m. to 12p.m.; Service at 12 p.m.; followed by interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association appreciated.
