“God saw he was getting tired; and a cure was not to be.  So he put his arms around him and whispered ‘Come with me’.  With tearful eyes we watched him suffer and saw him fade away.  Although we loved him dearly we could not make him stay.   A golden heart stopped beating; hardworking hands to rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us he only takes the best.”  Michael Wayne Wickham, Jr., “Mike” 54 of O’Fallon, Missouri, went to be with our Lord on May 7, 2022.   He was born June 17, 1967 in Granite City, Illinois to the late Michael Wayne Wickham, Sr. and Linda Sue Petras (Johnson).  Mike was an extremely creative person and he never met a kid’s school science project he didn’t like! He was a chef and his passion for baking cakes and the “best bread pudding ever” will be remembered for generations to come.  Mike would tell you he was a jack of all trades and master of none, but everyone knew better. He is survived by his loving children, daughter, Rebecca (Steve) Huber; daughter, Marissa Ellen Wickham, son; Zachary Michael Wickham, son; Christian David Joseph Wickham, and his most precious granddaughters, Allison Lynn and Natalie Marie Huber. A father, son, brother, cousin, grandfather, father-in-law, uncle and lifelong best friend, he will be missed by so many.

Service:  A Memorial Celebration of Mike’s life will be held at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis, Missouri on Saturday, June 18th at 1 pm with services concluding at the funeral home.
