Velasco; loving mother of Terri (Nancy) Velasco, Sharon (John) Colona, Steven Velasco, Susan (John) Kistler and the late Thomas Velsaco; dear grandmother of Maria (Matthew) Bronzell, Gina (Sam) Shelton, Kayla (Jeff) Winter, Jake Lauter, Nick Lauter and Sara (Greg) Downey; dear great-grandmother of Emma, Branden, Sadie, Rosie and Forest, dear sister of Marie Peters and the late Rev. Eugene Selzer;  dear aunt and friend.

Janet grew up in South St. Louis city in St. Stephen Protomartyr Catholic parish.  She was the middle child of Art and Helen Selzer.  She was a member of the first class of students who graduated from Bishop DuBourg High School.   Janet married Ernest T. Velasco, MD in 1957 and they raised  5 children.  She was a loving mother, grandmother (Lola) and great grandmother. Her hobbies included knitting, jewelry making, and puzzles.  She was a kind and thoughtful friend and she will be greatly missed by many.

Services: Funeral from KUTIS AFFTON Chapel 10151 Gravois, Saturday October 8, 9:30 AM to St. Matthias Catholic Church for 10:00 AM mass. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials to Amercian Brain Tumor Association appreciated. Visitation Thursday October 6, 4:00-8:00 PM. (No visitation on Friday Oct 7)
