Carol, I’m so sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. My prayers are with you and your family.
To Carol, I just learned from a fellow parishioner at Church today that your mother had passed away in June. I am so sorry for your loss. I have fond memories of Lorraine. She was a very special, thoughtful, and kind lady. When she was able, she would came to visit me and another neighbor on Sutherland Ave., Vic. I will relay the news of Lorraine’s passing to Vic.
Oh how we will miss Lorraine. We first met her when my mom worked in the office at St. Marcus Cemetery. When my mom passed away in 2003, Lorraine would often check to see how I was doing, we went to lunch, we talked on the phone often. She knew how broken my heart was and wanted to make sure I was doing alright. She came to our wedding in 2007 and brought so much sunshine to the celebration. We felt honored to have her in our presence. Often, we would drive by her house, just to check on things and make sure things were on the up and up, especially after Paris passed away. When we moved away from St. Louis for awhile, we still spoke on the phone and exchanged correspondence. I had a health crisis in 2018 and despite dealing with her own problems, she once again reached out and brought so much love and peace into our lives. Oh how we will miss her and the light she brought into this world!! We know she had a lot of challenges in recent years, but whenever we spoke on the phone her main concern was us and our pup. She didn’t complain about her circumstances , instead relying on her faith and her mission to make the world better. May God bring you peace and comfort during this most difficult time.
