Richard E. Thornton, 82 of Arnold, MO passed away Monday, September 1st 2020

 

Born in St. Louis, MO on October 6th 1937 to parents of Byron and Edna Thornton. Richard graduated from Roosevelt High School and later acquired an Associates Degree from Fullerton College in Fullerton, CA.

Married to and survived by his beloved wife Maxine Thornton who celebrated 65 years of marriage. Richard is also survived by his oldest son Richard Thornton, his only daughter Elaine Thornton Rhoads and his youngest son Michael Thornton. As well as a host of Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren whom he greatly loved.

 

Richard is and was a devout Christian, Husband, Father and Grandfather. His faith in God and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was the center piece of his life. Richard proudly served during the Cold war in the United States Army and will be greatly missed by loved ones and friends a like.

Services: Funeral at KUTIS SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd., Wed. September 30, 10 a.m. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with full Military Honors. Visitation Tuesday 4-7 p.m.
