Beloved husband of Elaine Thebeau (nee Ising) of 52 years; dearest father of Amy (Brad) Hale and the late Christine (Survived by Matt) Mikitin; dear papa of Connor, Morgan and Adam; dear brother of Peggy (Larry) Petcu and Dee (Mickey) Porter; our dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend to many.
SERVICES: Funeral Services Thursday, July 15, 2021 10:00 am Kutis AFFTON Chapel 10151 Gravois (St. Louis). Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions maybe made to Vietnam Vets. Visitation Wednesday, July 14, 2021 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
Dear Elaine, Amy, Adam and Brad, I am so sorry for your loss. Ken and I are thinking of you and praying for your comfort.
How do you say goodbye dear friend? You slipped away so quickly. You made us laugh and saw us cry. You were the best. May the angels see you into paradise.

Monday morning I met your daughter Amy. I knew something was wrong, but sure didn’t think it was what she told me. John, I’ve only known you a short time but want to thank you for sharing your wife with me. She helped me plant my flowers (she said you taught her how to do it) swept my porch and the sidewalks, and many more things. I will miss you asking if I ‘need a hand’ and then clapping when I say yes or telling me if I parked the car good or crooked.
When I came home last night it sure was strange not to see you in the chair on your porch. I will be sure to keep an eye on Elaine and keep her busy. She is going to miss you more than she can imagine.
The neighborhood has a guardian angel to look over us now. If you could do anything to catch the mouse that would be helpful!

so sorry for your loss, i will miss seeing John in the gym and having our morning chats. I only have known John for the past year or so, and know from our chats that he loved his family.
