It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Brett Taylor Swearingen. He was suddenly taken from us on January 31st, 2022. Brett had the biggest smile and the biggest blue eyes that would light up any room. His smile was just as big as his heart, he loved helping his family and friends. Brett enjoyed life to the fullest and was looking forward to his next chapter in life as a 22-year-old young man. He will be survived by his father, Joel Swearingen, mother Angela (Lynn) Billiter, stepfather William Billiter, brother Zachary Swearingen and loving nephew Tate Swearingen. Grandson to Crow and Roxann Swearingen, Sharon Mitchell, and the late Richard Lynn. Dearest Nephew of many aunts and uncles, many cousins and countless friends
Service: Visitation at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, on Wed. Feb. 9, 3-7 pm with service at 7:00 pm. Growing up, Brett was always fond of wolves and would never be without his stuffed animal, ‘baby wolf” so In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to the Endangered Wolf Center Eureka, MO and Helping Strays of Monroe County Illinois.

I am deeply sorry to hear of Brett’s passing. I was one of Brett’s 6th grade teachers; I could count on his daily smile and great interest in the world history I taught. Brett made a difference to me and will forever have a place in my heart. Zach, I am so sorry you have lost your brother. I wish peace to all who loved Brett.
such a young soul to be taken away from all of us. even though I didn’t know him very well when I did see him he was always happy . my heart is broken for his mom especially but also for the whole family its such a tragedy to loose a family member especially the parents. we are not to burry our children but God had a different plan .Brett you fly high and be your families angel and just let them dwell on all the fun times. your smile and them blue eyes could light up a whole room no matter what the case is .I love you sweet child and wished I could have kn own you better your a special young man and you will be terribly missed but when I see a beautiful sunrise or sunset or the warmth from the sun I will know you are there making it that way . sending much love to the whole family and to you as well ❤️
Zach I am so sorry to hear of your loss! Brett was as special to me as you were. He brightened my day with that infectious smile that you both have.
