Dear brother of Laura (David) Sain and Sarah (Bob) Burgard. Dear son-in-law of Robert and Peggy Taylor. Dear brother-in-law of Kathy (Kevin) Crandall. Dear brother at heart of Tammy (Craig) Slate. Our dear uncle, great uncle, nephew, cousin and friend.
Jason was a math teacher at Fox High School for 30 years and Adjunct Professor at Jefferson Community College, Missouri Baptist University and Maryville University.
Funeral from Kutis South County Chapel 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd. Thursday January 13 at 1:00 pm. Interment Shepherd Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the National Park Foundation at give.nationalparks.org Visitation Wed 5-8 pm.

I think back over the years at South Side first watching our kids grow up together and then later at Fox when we would run into Jason in the halls with our exchange students and then Ethan and Evie. He always had a ready smile and asked how the kids were and how we were. We would swap stories and updates. All of our kids (international and natural) loved him. He will be greatly missed. Our prayers and thoughts go out to you.
Jason was a wonderful, smiling teacher and friend. Our loss is heaven’s gain. Our prayers are with Kim and the kids for strength and happy memories during this difficult time.
Jason was a positive light throughout these tough educational times. He was always asking how we were doing, and if we needed anything. Jason even prayed with us before school on occassion to give us that extra boost. Jesus used Jason’s abilities to help strengthen God’s kingdom no doubt. I’ll never forget his love and passion for the FHS family. Thank you Jason for everything!
I had Mr. Stroups for math in high school. He was always so kind and caring for his students and those around him. For someone who loathed math in all forms, he always inspired me to keep trying and learning. He was a sweet soul and will be missed in this life. Prayers to Mr. Stroups family and friends during this tome.
Jason, I am going to miss the life you brought with you everywhere you went. You always had a smile and an encouraging word. You lived your life putting others first. You loved your students and they loved you. You have been a dear friend and mentor for over 20 years. I will cherish the times we have had together and aspire to be the friend you were to me. Thank You for being the best.
Jason was a great student who grew to be wonderful human being. His beaming smile when we met always brightened my day. Life will not be the same without him. My thoughts are with you. Science and Math 4 ever!

Jason was such a good hearted and kind person. I always enjoyed talking with Jason in the hallway at Fox because I always walked away with a smile on my face from something funny he would say. My heart goes out to his family.
Jason, we already miss you so much at Fox. You were a great friend and mentor. You always knew how to encourage me and make me laugh. You personally helped me a lot over the past 16 years (more than you would know). Your kindness, common sense advice, and sense of humor will stay with me(and I’m sure many others). I am a better person for knowing you.
To the Stroups family, I am so sorry for your loss. In my many conversations with Kim, Jason was mentioned. Thoughts and prayers from my family to yours.
There’s so much to say, but I think the most important is thank you..
For being there for me, when I needed you in high school.

Jason was such a great educator and an even better person. He had a profound effect on my wife as his student. He was a great colleague and would always know the right time to send my wife and I an encouraging email or note just to make sure we were doing ok. This was the gracious and thoughtful people he and Kim have been.
Thank you Jason for being the type of person we should all strive to be. You are greatly missed.
I will miss seeing and at times talking with Jason every Friday morning as I pass his third wing classroom. Indeed, I know that he will be truly missed by his Fox students as well as Fox staff and Fox alumni. As a person of faith, my thoughts and prayers for his family and many friends.

Jason served with me on the Southside Christian Academy and Greenpark Academy school boards and volunteered his time and expertise to education. He and his family have been our good friends. He lived a life of excellence as a Christian, husband, father, friend, teacher, professor, church and community member. Kim, Jennifer, Josh, you have every reason to be extremely proud of him. Know that our hearts and prayers are with you.

Jason was a wonderful person. He was very kind attitude to his colleagues and students. I had a chance to talk to him on several occasions. His energy and positive attitude made him very likeable and easy to work with. I appreciate the chance to get to know him and it was a pleasure working with him.
I am very sorry for your (Stroup’s) loss. All of you are in my thoughts and prayers. Jason will be greatly missed.
I personally feel very privileged to have had Mr. Stroups for two classes each day my senior year of 2004/2005. It was about 17 years ago when I recall him stopping the physics class to communicate a very honest and encouraging message to me and a few others, knowing the general career interest of the classroom. I had always respected him and on this one day, he probably forever impacted my life beyond what he could imagine. That said, I know part his legacy will live on through all the students, like me, that he helped turn into successful adults.
To his family- Mr. Stroups was a great man, and I am sincerely sorry for the tremendous loss you must be feeling.
I had Stroups for Geometry in 10th grade, so 1997. He’s one of the most memorable teachers I had and was definitely a positive role model. Math was my worst subject but somehow he got through to me and made it easy. We shared a passion for cars and my memories of him in the classroom are still with me today. My deepest condolences to his family.

So sorry to hear of your going home to the Lord. Way too soon, my friend. I appreciate all of the wisdom and time you shared with me for 13 wonderful years as part of the Fox family. We will one day meet again in glory. Until then, may the Lord keep and bless your family.
Mr. Stroups was by far my favorite teacher ever. He wasn’t just a math teacher he was a natural comedian with a special way to catch and keep my attention. I never loved math more in my entire life than I did when I was in his class, I always looked forward to going. I remember him poking fun of himself balding and being silly which showed us he was human and normal like us. When it was time to teach he did and we all listened. He treated us all like adults and taught more lessons than just math. Thanks for everything you’ve done for me Mr. Stroups you were a true legend and I’ll never forget you, class of 2007.
I met Jason at the nursing home where I work. His parents had lived there for a short time and even after they passed, he still checked in from time to time. Every year he made a donation for the residents’ Christmas. He said that no one wants to put their parents in a home, but I was one of the people who made him a little more at ease about it. We made a connection. Jason connected with many people; he made them feel valued. He was kind, patient, thoughtful and faithful. He made an impact on the lives of many; what a blessing to know him. My deepest condolences to his family. May you be comforted by God’s promise of everlasting life and know that he is reaping the rewards of Heaven.
My sincerest condolences to Jason’s family and friends. My interactions with Jason through Jefferson College were very positive and helpful, and I always heard good things from his students. He will be missed by many!
Mr. Stroups was an amazing teacher and I feel so privileged to have been in his class in high school. He will be so very missed. His family is in my thoughts and prayers.
I know I didn’t know him much but every time I passed him in the hallway he would always smile, and not that fake smile that people put on for show, it was as real. Thank you for everything Stroups, I will miss that smile of yours.
Mr. Stroups was among the best teachers that I’ve had in my life. His passion for his subject matter was evident and inspiring, his patience with his students was memorable and appreciated, and his demeanor and sense of humor made him and his classes a favorite part of my day. The subjects that I studied with him fostered and cemented my love of Mathematics and launched my career. My life is better for having known him.
To the Stroups family – you have my deepest condolences. I know that sometimes those words can right hollow but I hope that the stories that you hear and read about Jason are meaningful to you. Mr. Stroups had an impact on many in our community and will be fondly remembered by myself and many others.
I pray that God welcome him into His kingdom and that your family can find hope and comfort in his salvation. May God lift you up in your time of mourning.
Jason and I have shared 25 years at FHS as teachers. I would.often stop by his room and chat for a few minutes. He always had something insightful to share. We miss him already. Jason was such a kind, caring and gentle man…I had the privilege of working with him at Fox High…he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
I was blessed to have several years with Mr Stroups, starting his first year at Ridgewood and ending at Fox. He was an inspiration and that special teacher that left a lasting impact in my life. Always smiling and had encouraging words for all in the school halls. As years have gone by, I would run into him time to time and he always remembered me, same smile and same encouragement. He was truly a special person and one of a kind educator! I know God has welcomed him home with open arms!
