Barbara Ann Steinfeld, 81, of St. Louis, entered into God’s kingdom on March 14th, 2023. She was born February 7th 1942, and was the daughter of Clyde and Margaret Kirkpatrick.

Barb, the most loving and devoted wife, mother, and gaga, is survived by her husband of 51 years, Michael; daughter, Shannon (Jason); sons, Kevin and Kelley (Carrie); grandchildren Molly, Conor, Brieann and Liam; and her faithful dog, Murphy.

Barb met the love of her life (but didn’t know it yet) in1967at the Bevo Mill where she and Mike worked.  They were married in 1972, and she spent the next 51 years keeping Mike in line and out of trouble – which all of Mike’s friends would definitely agree to this.  She spent countless hours baking sweet treats and cooking exceptional meals for anyone who walked through the front door of her South City home.

Barb was an amazing mom whose impact will be forever felt by her family, that loves her dearly.  She was the constant volunteer at school functions, homeroom mom every year, baker of cookies, provider of snacks, and the “fill-in mom” for anyone who needed a hug or someone to talk to.

The highlight of Barb’s day was seeing her grandkids.  She was a “stay at home grandma” when they were little and would spend 7 days a week with them if given the option. They were the light of her life and they could always put a smile on her face.  Barb lived for their sleepovers, birthday parties, and any shopping days, phone calls, or gatherings that involved them.

Barb’s favorite day was St. Patrick’s Day which she looked forward to every year.  She enjoyed celebrating it every March 17thon her namesake float in Dogtown with friends and family.

Visitation will take place from 2pm to 6pm on April 11th at Kutis Funeral Home,10151 Gravois Road, St. Louis, 63123.
