Has passed away on June 11, 2018 at the age of 87. Daniel was born in St. Louis, Missouri on May 11, 1931 and moved to Camarillo in 1988.

Dan was an active firefighter for the St. Louis Fire Department “Justifiably Proud” for 26 years. He retired as the Chief Fire Marshall at the St. Louis State Hospital with a total of 31 years of service.

Dan was a 30-year parishioner at St. Mary Magdalen and was instrumental in starting the St. Vincent de Paul Society within the parish. He remained active until his death.

Dan will always be remembered by his family as kind, caring, full of life and knowledge. Everyone Dan met was his friend. He loved to cook for any and all and always made sure everyone had a hearty meal. His big voice and generous spirit will be missed.

Dan is survived by his loving wife, Kitty; his children, Philip, Daniel and Frances; his stepchildren and their spouses, David (Stephanie), Kathy (Ric), Mike (Karen) and Trisha (David). He was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Lillian Butler and a bonus son, Davidson along with many extended family and friends.

Services: Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. Monday, June 18th at St. Ambrose Catholic Church. Interment to follow at J.B. National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Ambrose, St. Vincent de Paul Society.[]
