Saturday, April 21, 2018. Visitation at KUTIS AFFTON , 10151 Gravois, Thursday, 4/26, 4-8 p.m. with funeral services on Friday, 4/27, 12 Noon. Interment St. Marcus Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House and Lydia’s House, a shelter for women and their children.
Joyce was a wonderful big sis. She was 13 years older than me and took me to parks, concerts and various children shows. I remember when I was 6 or 7, my brother Ted was in the navy and I had a sailor suit. I would put it on and knock on the front door and Joyce would open the door and hug and kiss me and yell, “Billy’s home!” Memories of the holidays visiting the Schubert family of 7 were always delightful with all the fun and commotion. Joyce was very good to our children in so many ways. She was a special person, thoughtful, kind and caring. She was even helpful at the nursing home looking out for others. I will miss her. Her little brother, Billy.

Joyce was more than a sister-in-law; she was a sister to me. She was a dear friend who was always willing to help anyone in need. She loved her own family, Earl and their 5 daughters, but she had much more love to share with her siblings, and nieces and nephews. Our three kids loved visiting Aunt Joyce and Uncle Earl. Amidst laughter and good-natured chaos, she made each child feel special. Multi-talented, she sometimes sewed costumes for our kids. Like her mother before her, Joyce made wonderful cookies that she loved to share. Joyce was fun to be with and we had many happy times together. Her spirit lives on in all the people she loved and touched throughout her life. Joyce is now in a better place with God and all her loved ones who have gone before her.
