Scalise (nee Link); loving father of Michael (Julie) Scalise, Cherise (Glenn) Moore and Victor (Tamrha) Scalise; dear grandfather of Nina (Orie) Figgs, Dominic Scalise, Jacob (Kristen) and Jordan Moore and Salvatore Scalise; dear step-grandfather of Daniel, Emily and Elias Peters; dear great grandfather of Vittoria Figgs, Addison and Aiden Moore; dear brother-in-law of Jerome and the late Dr. Larry Link; dear uncle and friend.
Frank was a member of the Stags A.C. in his teenage years. He was an army veteran that served during the Korean War. He graduated from St. Louis University high school and college. He also worked in the trucking industry for over 35 years. He is remembered by the neighborhood kids as a CYC coach for many years with baseball soccer and softball. Frank always had a positive outlook and smiled and loved everyone. No one was a stranger to him. Special thanks to the Veterans Administration and a loving shout out to the Nazareth living center staff.
Funeral from KUTIS AFFTON Chapel 10151 Gravois Friday January 13, 9:00 AM to Our Lady of Providence Catholic Church for 9:30 AM mass. Interment JB National Cemetery. Memorials to Backstoppers appreciated. Visitation Thursday 3:30PM-8:00 PM.
My sincerest sympathy to Velda and all the family. What a great neighbor Frank was always
so kind and caring as well as helpful when needed. I have many memories of cutting the grass
taking a break and talking with Frank swapping stories .As the Russian Proverb says, A kind word is like a spring day. That was Frank ! I mourn his loss but I am grateful he was my neighbor for sixteen years. Love Peace and Prayers to all from Boise Idaho.
My dearest Papa Frankie. You is definitely a rare jewel. Your humbleness, your love for your family, and your drive was exceptional. I am missing you so dearly. You have touched my heart and that I appreciate. Our chit chats will never be forgotten. How I would sneak away and crack jokes with you. Lol. My fellow veteran, my Papa, my heart…you was the key that lead me to my new family and I love you all. I will never forget you. The moon! Every time the moon shines at its brightest…that will be you smiling that beautiful smile of yours. I love you Papa Frankie. You are loved and always will be in my heart.
My deepest sympathy to Velda and family. I have been friends with Frank and Velda for 65 years, meeting them through my husband, Vern, who went to school with Frank from first grade and was in the Stags group with him. Frank was our best man and Velda our Matron of honor at our wedding. We remained close friends through the years even with our moving to Florida. I remember Frank as always smiling, friendly, kind-hearted, generous and considerate. I was so blessed to have him for a friend and will miss him very much.

Many happy memories a Frank working at the trucking industry and eventually working for the same company. There were trips together for awards from ABF for excelling in our efforts. Will never forget Frank and his entertaining wife Velda.
