Our prayers and thoughts are with you all Sue. What a ferocious fighter he was. So courageous.
I have only known Tom since September 2021 when we started working a project together. However, we talked weekly on most Monday’s about project updates and then would talk about our families and life. It was very clear in those calls how much he loved his family. He will be greatly missed.
Praying for you Sue, and the kids, on this most difficult journey!!!!
I’m saddened to hear of your husband’s passing. My deepest sympathies to you and your family.
Sue – we are so very sorry for your loss! Tom will be greatly missed! Love and hugs to all of you!
I loved working the fish fries with Tom, talking about college and soccer, and just being around him. Tom will be missed. The fish fries will never be the same again. My prayers are with Sue and the kids.
I had known Tom for over 30 years, first meeting him in 1986. You could see immediately that he was responsible, determined, and inspirational. Tom remained this way the rest of the time I had known him. I admired his drive and push to get things done. He set an outstanding template for his three children to emulate. A quote that fit his inspiration and dedication, “Destiny isn’t a matter of chance but choice; it is not something to be wished for, but to be attained.” William Jennings Bryan. Tom lived this credo his entire life. I will miss him, my brother-in-law and exceptionally good friend.
We are saddened by Tom’s passing. He had many good qualities as a person, friend and official. Our prayers and thoughts with his family.
Sue, to you and your family, we were saddened to hear of Tom’s passing. He was taken too soon. Our prayers are with you.
The officiating community and the game and players will miss Tom’s pleasant and friendly approach to everyone.
A great professional to work alongside.
So terribly sorry to hear this sad news ! Prayers for peace for Sue, the kids and his entire family.
Truly heartbroken to learn this. I worked many years with Thomas as a referee. He is loved by all of us and will be missed. He fought so very hard to beat this insidious disease back. God bless you all. Sending prayers and hugs. Do you all have a charity that we could donate to?
Lifting you up in prayers, Sue, Victoria, Matt and Gabbie. Tom was such a great guy and will be dearly missed.
We are so sorry for your loss. Sending you love and prayers through this difficult time. God bless you all.
Despite his extremely quiet nature, Tom displayed a calming confidence on the soccer pitch. He was and will forever be a brother in the United States Soccer Federation (USSF), collegiate, and high school community/fraternity. His presence will be sorely missed. May God continue to bless and keep Tom’s immediate and extended family in his absence.
I want to express my deepest condolences to my cousin Tom thanks for the dinners we all shared and the laughs and smiles we all had at Pietro’s. You are courageous and never gave up the fight. God bless you and family.
Dear Tom, rest in peace. I will miss you very much and our casual talks.
Praying for the family in this difficult time. My God give you strength. Sending love and prayers your way.
He was a kind man. He always did what needed to be done. He will be missed. Blessings on you all during this difficult time.
We are deeply saddened with the passing of Tom. He was strong man and great father and husband. We’ve known Tom for over 30 years. The time I shared with him will never be forgotten. We shared the same interest in cars, his Duster and my Demon, I can remember working on his Duster in the winter in the garage. We finally got it started. He has always been determined to succeed at anything he did. He was amazing! Tom will always remain in our hearts, what a wonderful Brother in law and great friend he was. We loved him and miss him so very much! Our prayers and love are with you and the family.
Chris and Karen Coyle send their sincere condolences. You’ll be missed on the soccer pitch. RIP, prayers to your family.
Rest in peace Tom. We will miss you, especially at the fish frys and the beer booth and of course the Holy Name meetings. Praying for you, Sue and the kids.
A true professional in work and officiating. Tom will surely be missed by all. Prayers to family.
Tom was my supervisor when I first got to Scott AFB in 1998. He was a smart, thoughtful, kind person. Very intelligent and enjoyable to be around–he taught me a lot. He will be missed. My heartfelt condolences to the Sapienza family. God bless you all.
Thank you everyone for these very touching messages of sympathy and prayers. Tom was a wonderful man. We feel truly blessed to have had him in lives as a husband and father. He was a quiet, humble and strongly faith filled man. We are so grateful for the outpouring of love and support from family, friends and acquaintances. What an incredible tribute to the man that he was.
With our gratitude and thanks,
Sue, Victoria, Matt and Gabrielle
