88, died January 14, 2022, in Arnold, Missouri. Loving daughter of Vernell and Mary Purdue, who predeceased her. Loving sister of Robert Purdue. Loving aunt and great-aunt to the Purdue family. Longtime friend and loyal companion of Marylin Koberlein and the Koberlein family. Longtime friend and loving mentor to Rachel (Lowry) Fisher and the Lowry family. Grateful friend to all her neighbors. A loving “old auntie” to the children of many families. Elaine enjoyed playing the piano, hand crafting dolls, sewing, and doing puzzles. She was retired from Boatmen’s Bank in downtown St. Louis, where she took great pride in her work. A compassionate friend to many in Missouri, Texas, California, the Carolinas, Illinois, and Michigan. She was an important member of many families and will be dearly remembered by them all.

Services: Following Elaine’s wishes, a visitation only will be held at Kutis Affton in St. Louis, on Saturday, January 22 from 2-5 p.m. Masks and other COVID-safe practices required at Kutis. Elaine will be laid to rest with her parents in Delta Mills, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Elaine’s memory may be made to Delta Mills United Methodist Church, 6809 Delta River Dr., Lansing, MI 48906.
