Pohle, Victor James Sr., 84 years old of Oakville, Missouri passed away on Sun. January 23, 2022 after a battle with cancer. Beloved husband of the late Georgeian Pohle (nee Eggers), He is survuved by his daughter Christine (Rich) Collister and Victor (Diane) Pohle, Jr. and his grandchildren, Carrie (Jason) Alberternst, Lauren Pohle, Brad Pohle, Richard Collister, Jr., Dawn (Mark) Cullison and Sarah (Aaron) Megel and several nieces and nephews.
Service: Funeral at KUTIS SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd., Mon. Jan. 31, 9 a.m. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Visitation Sun. Jan.30, 4-7 p.m.

Vic was always a pleasure to be around. He visited annually at my home in Crocker for a family gathering of first cousins. He will be missed.

Vic was a shipmate on U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Storis, Kodiak, Ak. July, 1966; He was very tolerant of us new guys just out of boot camp and I always appreciated that. RIP, Vic!
Vic and I served together on the Coast Guard Cutter Gallatin 1969-1970. A really good friend. RIP Vic.
I first met Vic in 1961 when I reported aboard the Coast Guard Cutter ANDROSCOGGIN based in Miami Beach. We were in the same division on the ship and had a lot of contact both on and off duty. We became shipmates which is a term that means more than just friendship. I left the ship in 1963 for another assignment. In January of 1966, having completed officer’s school and married, I reported aboard the Coast Guard Cutter STORIS based in Kodiak, Alaska. Vic and my boss from the ANDROSCOGGIN were both onboard. Vic spent many an evening at my residence in Kodiak with my wife and myself. Years passed and I would run into Vic here and there and we remained friends and when together picked up where we left off. Vic will be sorely missed by myself and my wife and his family. He was a man’s man and his loss will not be forgotten.
Vic and I served on CGC Gallatin (69-70 ) he was a great shipmate and friend, he made the first class quarters memorable! RIP Vic we have the watch!
My husband and I were stationed on Governors Island and had many laughs and cocktails together. Facebook enabled Vic snd I to resume our friendship and updates on our other Coast Guard friends over the past years
Vic always had a smile for everyone. He was well liked by all.

I feel privileged to have known Victor. Victor was one in a million. My favorite memory of him will forever be in my soul. My condolences to the Pohle family.
Vic and I were both radarmen aboard the Androscoggin. We had an off ship apartment in Miami not far from the Orange bowl that we shared with two other shipmates, Bob Dunn and Jerry Kelly. Vic was a wild and crazy guy in those days. Never a dull moment. He’ll be missed. I sorry for your loss.
