Pierce, Matthew D., passed away on August 14, 2022.
Beloved son of the Sean Pierce and Christina Pierce (nee Droney); cherished father of Steffan Edwards-Pierce; dear companion of Trinity Edwards; dear grandson of Margie Bryan; dear brother of Erica Pierce and Taylor Pierce; dear brother-in-law of Vincent Crocker, Andrew Larson, Christian Edwards, Gabriel Edwards, Phoenix Edwards and Kayla Pitts; dear uncle of Lorenzo Crocker, Giovoni Crocker and Willow Edwards; and many other extended family members including Nicholas Edwards, Danielle Edwards, Rita Keating and Dennis Keating.
Services: Visitation at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, on Sunday, September 4, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Services conclude at the funeral home.
Matt you left us to soon son. You were a great father and just all around guy. You will be missed. Love you buddy.
I’ll never forget the first time I met you, running away after knocking on my door on Halloween night because you were too shy. The story began there and I will have plenty of memories to share with Steffan. I’ll be forever great full to have had you in our lives for as long as we did. My condolences to Sean, Christina, Erica, Taylor Pierce and the rest of his family. Thank you Matt for all those awesome talks we had. I’ll miss you until the day I see you again. Keep watch over Steffan, Trinity and the rest of us.

My baby brother and forever best friend I am so thankful for all of the love and memories we have shared together. You’ve made me the proudest big sister and aunt I could have ever imagined being. You were such a beautiful soul and mind an amazing brother, friend ,coworker and father. Dear Matthew, Words can not express my feelings right now. I am finding it so hard to believe that you are gone. I know that we didn’t get to see each other as much as we used to when you were a little guy, but I know that you had grown up to be a good young man and you loved your son so much. The last time we talked was at Harvey’s funeral. And I was so happy for you because you had grown so much as a person. I know that Steffan is in good hands so you can rest in peace. I never thought there would be a day I couldn’t call upon my big brother. One of my keepers. You were always there for me in any way you could have been, no questions asked. I’d do anything to be able to re-live every second together one more time. I’ll just have to re-live all the memories in my mind instead. I’m thankful for every last one of them. I’m especially thankful for the nephew you blessed me with and to Trinity as well. You were such a unique and incredible person and I have and always will look up to you. Thank you so much for all you taught me. I’ll live everyday day the way I knew would have made you proud.
Ah Matty Matt. You were such a good friend to me and I always considered you one of my brothers. I could always rely on you to give me a good laugh on my bad days, and be there when I just needed to rant. We met when you were fourteen, I watched you tackle being a new father, and raise Steffan to be a such a funny little guy with a big heart. You and Trin were always down to do whatever, and I loved being around you. I will miss you so much, give Bri a big hug for me. Till we meet again, friend.

Words cant describe the feeling of losing someone who’s time seems to have been cut short. Although I wish we connected more in our adult years, I’ll never neglect the brotherhood we created years ago. Forever and always rest in paradise brother.

You were a good kid, and an amazing young man. I am proud of who you were as my son as well as a person. I loved looking into your eyes and seeing all the potential you held. You could have fine so far in life if just given the chance. I am sorry you were taken from us far to soon. You were so full of life an the intelligence you held inside you was astounding. Wide way beyond your years. As I long to hold you just one more time I remember you coming into this world too early and now you’ve left too soon. I will forever hold you in my heart and my thoughts. I could not have asked for a better son or brother for my girls. Know you were loved by everyone you came encounter with. You have touched so many life’s. I want to thank you for the beautiful grandson you’ve given me an the 21 years I was blessed with to be your morher. Rest easy son we love you.
