January 29, 1964 – March 2, 2021
On Tuesday, March 2, 2021, Mike (Mule) Muhlhauser, loving son, father and friend to many, entered into rest at the age of 57.
Mike was born the second of two children to James C. and Joyce Muhlhauser in St. Louis, Missouri. He was a 1982 graduate of Lutheran High School South and a 2000 graduate of Ranken Technical College as an apprentice plumber.
Mike started his work-life as a fueler at both The Spirit of St. Louis and Lambert International Airport until he opted for a career change. He maintained a successful career as a journeyman plumber for several area plumbing companies, lastly working for Tony LaMartina Plumbing. Through his knowledge and willingness, he aided friends, families, and those in need with a plumbing emergency or question.
Mike served his faith and others as a member of the Lutheran Church of Webster Gardens, participating in children’s ministry and as a leader/participant on Christian Missions. Mike travelled both locally and internationally delivering the good news of Jesus Christ by serving others.
With a jovial laugh or a wicked chuckle, Mike could easily debate a myriad of subjects. He had an opinion and was always willing to engage in a debate or discussion, especially when it came to brewing a good beer or knowing what consisted of one. His passion was having fun, enjoying a good beer, and going on adventures.
Mike was preceded in death by his grandparents, his father Jim, and his brother Mark C. Muhlhauser. He leaves to grieve, his son Evan Muhlhauser, mother Joyce, his former spouse Julie Muhlhauser, extended family and a multitude of friends.
Services: Visitation will be at the Lutheran Church of Webster Gardens, 8749 Watson Road, on Saturday, March 6, 2021 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. with funeral services starting at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Redeemer Cemetery, 8300 MacKenzie Road 63123. Pallbearers include Don Bannis, David Herd, Tracy Hounsom, Kirk Johnson, John Lloyd, Jim Reith, and Zach Sommermeyer.

Mike it was both an honor and a privilege to know you as a friend and a brother in Christ. We had some good times in the children’s ministry doing puppets together. We had some great conversations on our ride out to The Men’s Ministry retreats. We had a blast at some awesome concerts. Some more great conversations over beers. You will be missed my brother.
But as the great Tom Petty put it.
You and I will meet again, when were least expecting it. Somewhere in some far off place I will recognize your face. I won’t say goodbye my friend for you and I will meet again.
On all three trips to Hong Kong Mike showed me how to share the love of Christ and the gospel message w all people. Will never forget this gentle giant of a guy! Rest in peace, Mike. The best is yet to come. See you again on that great day.

The little time I knew him he brought a lot of confidence with him. Strong minded and willing, just an all around good guy
Mike and I shared a loving and faithful relationship. We had both been through many hardships in our lives but through many prayers and sharing the love of Christ we realized that we were meant to be together. Even with the small things we shared I always felt wanted. I knew he was the one! He was a very loving partner and father. Evan meant the world to him! Until we meet again my love
I am so saddened to learn of Mike’s passing. I met Mike when I was the coordinator of the short-term teams in Macau and Hong Kong. He was one of the kindest and most supportive team members that had ever visited. The students absolutely adored him. I know he made a lasting impact on their lives. He was a great example of Christ’s love for others. He also was a great encouragement to me and my coworkers. My thoughts and prayers are with his son Evan. He spoke of Evan with such pride.
