Thomas) Imhoff, Patricia (Steve) Dickens, Nancy Mueth, Sharon (Charles) Petersen and Rosanne (Philip) Sampson; adoring grandfather of Brian, Becky, Eric, Christopher, Nicholas, Chris, Kevin, Hannah, Duane, Benjamin, Deanne, Jennifer, Nathan, Molly and Melissa; cherished great-grandfather of 19; dear brother of Thomas Mueth and the late Robert (surviving Dolores) Mueth and Mary (Frank) Kopp. Our dearest uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend to many. Funeral from Kutis Affton Chapel 10151 Gravois Rd. 63123 on Friday, July 1 at 9:30 am. to St. Justin Martyr Catholic Church for 10:00 am. Mass. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation Thursday 4-8 pm. Gene was a friend to all firefighters, contributions may be made to Backstoppers in his memory.

Roseanne – so sorry to hear about your dad. I have so many found memories of him as our softball coach. I remember him as always smiling.

Mr. Mueth was my soccer coach at St Elizabeth in the 60’s, a friend and fellow volleyball player at St. Justin’s in the later 70s and always one of those people who you would never want to disappoint. If Gene was around you’d mind your manners because his approval meant a lot. he was a terrific gentleman and will be sorely missed. He made a huge impact on a lot of CYC kids. Thanks to the Mueth family for sharing him with us !

Very sorry for the loss of your father, Pat. My brother was a firefighter for the city of St. Louis. We lost him to cancer a little more than 10 years ago.
Pat, Steve and Family. Sorry for the loss of your Dad. I remember meeting your parents at your retirement ceremony. They were both very kind and pleasant individuals. May God Bless you and your family with fond memories when you think of him.
I was saddened to learn of Eugene’s passing. I’m sure he will be missed and was comforted by the loving support of his family and friends. Please accept my deepest condolences.

I was saddened to read of Gene’s passing. I worked with Gene at Washington University Medical School beginning in 1978 until his retirement. He was always jovial and kind, and he obviously loved his wife and family so much! He was a model for how to live a happy life and how to treat people.
Mr. Mueth was my softball coach for CYC. I was in class with Nancy. I loved to go n play softball. He was a nice coach n it was fun! I thank him for devoting his time to us kids! God bless Mr. Mueth!

It’s with deepest sympathy for the loss of Gene. He was a wonderful, caring man that had a smile on his face everytime you would be around him. He will be missed and our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
I knew Gene from the Box 8 Club. He was a good guy and really put in a lot of time on the Canteen handing out water and Gatorade at fires and selling shirts to benefit the STLFD. I really enjoyed talking to him. He would stop by the engine house in Affton some days when I was working and chew the fat. May he rest in eternal peace.
I wish to thank all of Gene’s friends for leaving their kind notes and expressions of sympathy for me and my family. He is truly missed every day.
He enjoyed people of every walk of life, no one was a stranger. He loved working with young people especially with sports activities, coaching and refereeing soccer until his age caught up with him.
