age 86, died February 6, 2016, in St. Louis, MO, in the embrace of his loving wife Susie K Moore.

Bruce was born February 28, 1929, in Springfield, MA, the son of Homer and Hazel Moore. He remained a proud Yankee throughout his life. He grew up in the Great Depression and WWII, and his fierce determination and intelligence got him into college. A cum laude graduate of Tufts ’50, he later received a Master’s in Civil Engineering from Purdue.

Bruce served his country as an Army officer and was a Korean War veteran.

Bruce served the US Army Corps of Engineers from 1958 to 1991. As Chief, Foundation and Materials Branch, he was recognized for his contributions to the St. Louis flood walls and Lock & Dam 26.

Bruce was a Boy Scout leader and father of two Eagle Scouts. He was a member of Southminster Presbyterian Church from 1970.

Bruce loved fishing. He spent 13 winters in the Florida Keys, surrounded by boats, tackle, sea, sun, and friends.

Bruce dedicated 24 years of volunteer service to the USO at Lambert Airport. He was a champion for military veterans and supported his wife’s work in the American Gold Star Mothers Inc.

His last years were tough. Through it all he was a fighter.

Bruce is predeceased by his  beloved son Captain Karl H Moore (1986). He is survived by his wife  Susie, son Douglas, and adopted daughters Qiang Dotzel and Michelle Ardrey. He was Grandpa to Michael and Myra Dotzel, and he was Opa to Elise and David Ardrey.

Services: Burial will be with military honors Friday, February 12, 9:30 a.m. at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Memorial service will be Saturday, February 13, 2016, 11 a.m. at Southminster Presbyterian Church, 10126 E Watson Rd, Crestwood, MO 63126.
