Passed away on April 14, 2023 at 96 years old. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Elmer Milward, in 2009. Dolores was born and raised in Boss, Missouri on November 22, 1926, the greatest generation, to parents Carl and Docia Merritt. After World War II, Dolores and Elmer raised four children on Wood Avenue in Kirkwood, Missouri. Dolores was a wonderful mother, homemaker, and a school secretary for the St. Louis County Special School District. Dolores was an avid reader, a great poker player, a crossword genius, and loved to cook with her favorite can of beer sitting close by.

Dolores is survived by her children Thomas (Shari) Milward, Mark (Sherri) Milward, Jeanne (John) Bethmann, and brother Delbert (Florence) Merritt. Son David Milward passed away after a long bout of cancer in 2018. Older sister Helen (Ken) Patton passed away in 2003 .  Dolores had seven beautiful grandchildren and ten adorable great-grandchildren who she loved a great deal. She was Mom, Grandma, and Great-Grandma to us all and will be missed greatly.

Dolores will have a grave site service at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery on Friday, June 2, 11:15 a.m. (meet at lot at 11:00 a.m.) Donations to the Epilepsy Foundation of Missouri & Kansas (EFMK.org) may be made and appreciated in lieu of flowers.
