John E. McMorrow formerly of Easton, MA, died Sunday, January 16, 2022, in his home in St. Louis, MO at the age of 73.
Born in Boston, MA to the late Francis and Margaret (LaPierre) McMorrow, John was raised in the Saint Mark’s Parish area of Dorchester, MA.
John had a fondness for horses, camping, and model trains. In his early years, he spent many days riding horses at his father’s barn in Milton, MA, and recently mentioned he wished he could get back on one again. He loved spending a week every summer at Point Sebago resort campground in Maine with his family and friends playing cribbage and sitting around the fire telling stories. Upon moving to St. Louis in 2013, he attended model train shows where he purchased items to add to his collection which he has had since childhood. He adored his two grandchildren and spoiled them at any chance he got, by sneaking them candy or with their weekly trips to QT.
He served in the National Guard for 6 years where he was honorably discharged in 1972. John was a retired Operating Engineer who worked for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (The “T”) for close to 30 years where he ran an array of heavy equipment including cranes and other specialized machinery. John recently became a lifetime member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local #4, Boston, because he paid membership dues for 50 years. He was also active in the Boy Scouts of America for many years as well, holding the positions of Scoutmaster and Committee Chairman.
He is survived by his loving wife Dorothy (Crowley) McMorrow, his sons, John Jr. and Kevin, Daughter-in-law Carrie (Craig) as well as 2 grandchildren, Liam, and Addison, all of St. Louis. He also leaves behind a brother-in-law, Stephen Celli (late Mary Ellen Celli), sister-in-law, Barbara McMorrow (late Deacon Tom McMorrow) both of Pembroke, MA, and many nieces, nephews, cousins & in-laws.
Visitation will be held from 3-8 p.m. on Friday, January 28th at Kutis AFFTON Chapel located at 10151 Gravois Road. Join us for prayers, Kutis Affton on Saturday, January 29th, 9:00 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Raphael the Archangel Parish located at 6040 Jamieson Avenue at 10:00 a.m. Burial is private.

It is with sadness that I write condolences to each of you. As a family unit, few have been so dedicated to each other and to each other’s needs. May your loss be easier as time passes though time will pass slowly and you will think it may never end.
