(nee Stein) Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Thursday, November 12, 2015, quietly passed away after many years with Alzheimer’s disease.

Eleanor is survived by her former husband John A. McArthur and sons, John (Juli), Jerry (Elaine), Bob  (Martha) and Rick (Dianna), sister Kathleen (Jack) Argent and 17 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Michael, daughter-in-law Terri, parents Elinore and Stephen Stein and siblings Estelle, Stephen and Donald.

Eleanor loved her family and her grandchildren. She enjoyed attending their athletic events, working in the garden and reading. She lived her entire life in St. Louis, working hard in many businesses while raising her 5 sons, including co-founding Johnny Mac’s Sporting Goods in 1967.

The family wishes to thank the  caregivers of Delmar G               arden South and Pathways Hospice for their loving support over many years.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center at Washington University School of Medicine, Campus Box 8111, 4488 Forest Park Blvd., Suite 130, St. Louis, MO 63108
