Tom’s greatest joy and love was coaching his children and other kids at basketball. Then to watch his grandchildren play sports. We will miss him tremendously and comforted by the fact that he will be in our hearts forever.
Services: Memorial Mass on Saturday, March 20, 9:30 a.m. at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church. Celebration of Life at Francis Park on 3/20 starting at 2:00 pm. Casual event for all to gather safely outdoors. Please bring lawn chairs. Light picnic fare will be served. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association and or Beast Cancer Research appreciated.
The memories of our families growing up together on Walsh St are some of the fondest memories I have. This includes your dad and your family in the coolest house on the block. Hugs to all of you Paula, Steve, Nick, Chrissy and Julie

Tom was a DeAndreis high school friend. He was a great athlete, great dancer (DA had a juke box in the cafeteria)and fun to be around. Sorry that he’s gone.

This is from another DeAndreis High School graduate, and in later years my late husband & I walked on a regular basis in Francis Park, and would regularly see and visit with Tom there. It’s been a few years now since we were there. To Tom’s family, I’m sorry for your loss and my prayers are with all of you.
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of my dear Uncle Tom. I have so many great memories that involve him and his wonderful family at the May Ranch in the Ozark Mountains, at the May family reunions in Illinois, at the May Christmas parties, at the Lake of the Ozarks where I learned to water ski behind his boat along with my other cousins (that poor boat didn’t get a rest that entire week) etc, etc, etc. I am sure that my father and he and their other siblings are telling stories up in Heaven at this moment. You have mine and my families deepest condolences, I was informing to my mom Nancy of this great loss and she was telling me stories of that Tom and Bob (my God-Father)were the first two of my dads life long friends she was introduced to way back when they first started dating back in 1968 or somewhere around there. When I would run into your dad at Mr. B’s he always had the BEST stories to let me remember my dad and their childhood stories. He always had the best smile and gave the biggest hugs. He will be missed and loved forever. xoxo

Your dad was a great coach during my formative years. He taught me to use my left hand and become a left-handed player. I attribute that skill to being key in helping me through high school sports and making it to the college level. He made us work hard at practice, but there were laughs to be had as well. I am sorry for the loss of your dad, and know his thumbprint had a huge impact on my life.

Such fond memories of seeing “Mr. May” and your whole family walk down from the top of Delor street from the alley behind Walsh and giving my dad a fond hello or a joke on your way over to Gabe’s. We will miss him dearly! he was a big part of our lives as kids growing up back in the day and enjoyed interacting with him at the family functions. The memories of the farm, the lake , staying the night at sleep overs as kids at the house on Walsh Ave. We will never forget. sad to see him go. He’s up there with my Dad (Dave) now and his other brothers and sisters looking down on us.
I was able to attend the live-streamed Mass from St. Gabes this morning and want to commend all the May participants in a fine remembrance memorial. Tom was a good guy and we often had father stories to share . May he rest in Peace.
